0 times crew checking in, Thats a tough exercise.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."– Carlos Castaneda

Ive never even tried that to be honest (185). I normally rep between 115-125 for 3x10 depending on how I'm feeling that day. Its a very tough exercise. My shoulders have always been one of my weaker/underperforming things too.

Hit 4 x 6 last week with a slow eccentric. Still can't hit 220 for a single though.

I think the most I've ever done was 135 for 5-8 reps it was long time ago. Usually when I do shoulder work I lift more moderate weight now till failure
No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.

Yeah for pure bodybuilding purposes I agree seated on a smith machine is ideal

More stability is always better for just pure muscle building

I misc, so 0. In my non-misc life, it’s my 1rm sadly.

I mostly have trained for strength and ended up getting bigger, but will always be perpetually weak.

I have skinny weak ph4ggot ankles and wrists, so I wonder how much of my weakness is attributed to my little bitch bones and tendon/ligaments, my muscles, or all of the above.

I’m considering just going straight cardioph4g and using kettlebells/rucking/sled/sandbag carries. Probably better for my job anyways. Plus I’m over 35 so my tour is over. Only semi-decent lift I’ve ever had was a 505 deadlift and that’s just because of my leverages.

That's really strong, you must have like a 315 standing OHP?
Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 205x5
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

Have you considered using things like wrist wraps, elbow sleeves? They'll help with stability if that's an issue

I love how people tell blatant lies and expect people to believe them lol. You look about 170 lbs in your avi and you expect us to believe your throwing 185lbs overhead for 20+ reps lmao

In my avatar I was around 188-190 at 5'8. I'm currently just as lean at 198. Strong hater, I actually take bodybuilding serious and have been training for almost 2 decades. I'm also not natural. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

He's saying seated which is much easier, stablizes the lift for you. I can do a good 40-50 more pounds seated than standing

He's 180 at 5'8 and not natty I dunno why that's so unbelievable, shorter guys with shorter arms pressing is a lot easier and less mobility issues

Yeah, but I always kinda had this minimalist mindset where if I can’t do it without wraps and sleeves, then I just can’t do it. If my gay little joints are the issue, I was hoping that they’d get stronger with strength training.

That being said, I’ve tried the 8-12 rep scheme and never really grew. 1-5 reps has always put on the most size for me. I’m not destined to be a super strong guy, but I’ll do what I can given my genes.

Fair enough but I would consider, what is the point of you doing this exercise. Are you lifting these heavy weights over your head to increase the size of your shoulders and make them stronger? Or to prove to yourself that you have the strongest wrist joints in the world?

Well despite being on bodybuilding.com, I’m not super into bodybuilding. I’m a fireman so strength helps and makes everything easier. But I also want to look good for my wife, so looks are important too.

I know diet is extremely important, but I’m not really knowledgeable on lifting for my goals.
