Projects - government housing for low income people
Ghetto - originally named after Jewish/Nazi eras but now are considered low income areas
Slum - I don't think people use that anymore, but mainly run down areas
Hood - black neighborhoods that have a lot of gang affiliation

thanks mate but slum is definitely used in some places, used to be London slums too
