What's the best brand of bacon?

I usually get the 3lb pack from sam's club but today I went to publix and got some brand called Hatfield. It was way better but expensive. What's your favorite brand?

I don't know the brand but it's at Whole Foods - I think it's a local thing cause it is in the butcher shop not prepackaged - they have three kinds, apple wood, black pepper, and no sugar added - I like the no sugar one the best.

It's worth it to go on a weekend late morning or afternoon - there are always a few trophy wives there post gym and barely clothed - and the bacon is $9.99/lb not sure what regular bacon goes for but I feel like it is not that much more expensive

I've tried them all. They're all trash. The best bacon you can get is from your local butcher.

sam's club it's 9.99 for 3lbs I think. The one I got today was 8.99 for 1lb. Yeah I gotta go to whole foods soon I guess

That's probably true. But still some of the trash brands are better than others.

They're all trash, even the "premium/thick cut" brands. They're all deceptive in showing the meatiest part in the front of the package, but when you buy it that meat portion is just 1/8th of an inch thick and the rest is just fat. If you go to a local butcher, you can watch them cut the meat and tell them what cuts you want and which cuts you want them to throw out.

I should change the title to "best trash brand of bacon". Even the worst brand still tastes pretty good to me

The best usually comes from butcher shop. I get mine at a slaughterhouse that smokes it and has a retail shop. Nothing large grocery stores can even come close to

My experience has been you just have to look at individual packages. I haven't found one that's consistently amazing.

Thanks buddy. Did it a couple years ago. I guess pork bellies were on sale at Costco, so my wife bought a package and brought them home. I saw them and asked what they were for. She said they were on sale and figure they'd be good for something. So I had to learn to make bacon.

I haven't made bacon that much but.

1. I hear Applegate is good.

2. I don't think it matters that much, I think the most important thing is to cook it on some sort of rack, as long as it's done that way, should turn out great.

Brand doesnt really matter .

1/8" slices with about 60% fat

Seen some bacon sold with hardly any fat, tastes like ****ty ham when you cook it.

Most bacon is too salty nowadays and kind of crappy.

I get smoked jowl bacon from the farm that delivers for me, or I buy the applegate no sugar added bacon. That stuff is good. Pricey though and I eat a pack at a time.

I also buy pork belly and slice it, season it myself, and throw it in the air fryer.

Favorite bacon:

Best bacon I've ever eaten was at the Edison restaurant in Orlando, Disney Springs. The clothesline candied bacon.
