Did your friend just get ripped off by a mattress salesman? Here are the two signs…

If your friend tells you:

"I got a great deal on a new mattress!"

This is ALWAYS a red flag. The job of the salesman is to convince the customer that they're getting an amazing deal by buying their product. A deal so incredible, that they'd be foolish to pass on it. Mattress salesmen are great at this. Maybe even better than used car salesmen. Its vital that the customer leaves the store with the concrete belief that they're the ones coming out on the better end of the deal. This ensures a very low rate of returns.

Then, if you hear your buddy repeat the classic mattress salesman phrase:

"You spend 1/3rd of your life sleeping….."

This is usually followed by something like "makes sense to invest in comfort" or longevity…typically something along those lines. Always starts the exact same way though. Understand, mattress salesmen have been using this tired line for at least a century. And fools still fall for it. I don't know why. But they'll proudly recite the same played-out sales line in an attempt to convince others that their purchase was the deal of a lifetime. Its ludicrous, fellas. It really is. Just means they got hooked with the same old, stale bait and don't even realize it happened.

Be aware, you're not going to get a good deal on a mattress. Not on a new one. The industry prices mattresses at several-hundred-times the manufacturing cost. The profit margins are insane. There is no good deal to be obtained. So its better to get ripped off for a couple hundred bucks than several thousand. Buy cheap, take care of your body, eat healthy, sleep on your back and you won't have any issue with comfort.

A $1200 mattress for 1/4 the price is a salesman selling you a $50 mattress for 6x the price.

I'm just gonna leave this here.

6740 posts, 5073 have the word "anus" in them. That's 75% of his posts, in 75% of OP's posts he's referencing another man's anus. Is it any wonder that OP is a huge homosexual? The mattress is of no importance to OP, just as long as he's getting his back blown out.

Watch him reply to this post in a most homosexual of manners.

Did I really get under your skin that much, partner? Huh? Just by simply pointing out your lackluster approach to personal hygiene?? And your fake wife?

You really care about hygiene, your many boyfriends must like you fresh and hairless. Don't catch the monkey pox now.

I think you should sleep on two Tempur mattresses, buddy boy. Maybe even three. Really put your status on full display. Just so you can boast about how badly you've been taken advantage of by someone substantially beneath your stature. Such class. Such dignity!

Why do you care what someone else spends their money on?

Only thing you're getting under is a veil of poverty. Because it sounds like you're envious that you can't afford things that others can. So I'm giving you a chance to explain. Maybe we're all wrong about you being a broke cuck, maybe an expensive mattress killed your father and raped your mother, and that's why you have a vendetta against any mattress that doesn't cost $75. Just trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.

This is why I only get used mattresses discarded in dumpsters. Srs though, if the markups are so high, wouldn't that make a lot of room for 'deals' reducing the prices? And if the entire industry overprices a mattress, isn't that just what the market bears?
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.
