No? If you ask why to many (most?) mathematical questions you will get either ”because of definition” or a proof. How could it be anything else? You are free to choose your own mathematics, it just happens to be that mathematicans tend to chose the most, to them, interesting constructs to play with.

Buddy, I'm not lying here. This is the stupidest thread I've ever seen on the misc.
