If someone you really hated died or got terminally ill
And other people started conversations with you about it i.e. "too bad what happened to him, huh?" How would you respond?
If a guy a bit removed from your circle whom you thought was a total sack of garbage ended up getting into a car wreck and died or was in the ICU, and someone comes up and asks you to sign the get well card or share some condolences, what exactly would you tell them? Would you be upfront about how you thought the guy was a real prick, or just stay hush?
Suppose you were still good with the people asking about him, would you fake some sympathy so you don't rub them the wrong way?

A guy I had been enemies with since I was 16 drowned when I was in my mid 30s, but I never encountered a situation like the ones you described. He had a lot of enemies and was known for starting fights with a lot of people, I was kind of glad he passed away, but didn’t share that with other people.

Depends why I hated that person. If it was a regular person who I just didn't get along with, I'd keep my mouth shut out of respect for those who lost someone they cared about

I don’t let people bother me to allow them to affect my emotions to the point of hate. That being said, if I dislike someone. I give zero fuks about them. And if someone around me says he’s a great guy, I’ll say he’s a piece of chit.

a guy I went to school with from first grade through high school - we were teammates in high school and often in the same boats - we won a lot of races together. But I never liked him nor did he like me - we were friendly but not friends. he died prematurely when we were in our late 20s and my high school team held a memorial service. I went out of respect for him but mostly for his parents - who always treated me well though I am sure they were aware that he and I did not have a great relationship. I was asked if I wanted to speak and declined and I flat told someone that I wasn't comfortable doing so because we didn't have a great relationship. I feel bad that he died cause no one should die that young except p2dos

He died from cancer or something very shortly after highschool
When i still visited parties and stuff I would still call him a piece of chit and then I'd say rip.
Idc, he's not any less of a phgt because he died.

If someone asked me about the person's situation Id give a general comment about how difficult and unfortunate it is when life is taken prematurely.
What is there really to achieve or prove by ranting about a dead guy. Hes dead. You cant change him, and changing others opinion of him serves no purpose. Just move on.
