They put people like Trump and Biden up for a reason, and it isn't because those are their only options. Everything they do is carefully calculated, nothing is random or done out of desperation. They don't want to find a "better candidate". What they want is Trump, and that is because he is the one who is best at manipulating the right at the moment. Once Trump has served this end to the maximum then they will introduce someone else to take the reins.

This. I'd prefer most any of the other republican candidates over him, but he won the primary election so following democratic guidelines, he gets the nod. He could/should remove himself, but no one from the party, or the party itself, should remove him. That's not how the process works. Very much unlike the current democrat party who clearly forced out their primary winner and put someone else in who did not win the election. The same party who, in 32 states (I believe last I checked?), tried to remove a presidential candidate from the ballot.

People are power hungry. And money talks. You can only donate $3,300 to a candidate but can write any number you'd like on a check to a certain party. That party runs the show. I believe the people should actually choose the candidates, not the establishment.
