Not just Jake and Randy, but an era of in depth characters and storylines. So what if it was real life cartoons? People watched because people cared about what the we’re watching. It was intriguing. We wanted to know what was going to happen next. A big part of it was taped wrestling on Saturdays and Sundays and Prime Time Wrestling on Mondays. We had an occasional SNME and 4 PPVs. Not an over- saturation of wrestling everyday on every media outlet. There was plenty of time to tell the story so everything made sense. Nothing was rushed all i’s were dotted so by the time the PPVs came around it was a big deal.

Jake and Randy are 10000x better than anyone today. They know how to cut a promo and tell a story in the ring. No twinks, no p h agg ots

Everything was 100% believable.

vs. Shawn Michaels (3 amazing feuds, 3 excellent matches)
vs. Kane (this for the story telling in all their feuds)
vs. HHH (3 amazing feuds, 3 excellent matches)
vs. Edge (one of my personal favorites, the feud and both their WM and SSlam matches were amazing)
vs. Randy Orton (good story telling, solid long feud)

Anyone else watching this PPV? Although AEW has lot a bit of excitememt ever since MJF left and this card is not as good as last year's Revolution PPV...but I will still look forward to it for Will Ospreay match and if Swerve Strickland will become the world champion.

2 horrible boring promos between Cody and Seth professing their love for each other. It was gay and boring and unfortunately being on the start of the show, RAW never recovered until the last 30 seconds with the Solo run-in.

Kinda surprised because Cody is usually pretty good on the mic, but felt like Seth brought him down with the corniness. I guess this is what happens when the Rock comes back and his mic skills are light years better than everyone else. The expectations are all the promos will be good, but instead its one big disappointment. Cody needs someone like the Rock and Punk to elevate his game, but when in the ring with someone who has worse mic skills, his game just goes to chit.

Don't think so? Imagine the disaster if we had 1 on 1 mic offs between Cody and stage fright Roman. Thank god Rock saved this one.

C'mon Trips, the RAW is supposed to be getting better getting closer to WM, not worse.

Have a buddy who has a chair from Mania X back in 1994 says Savage used it on Crush in match. I'm trying to authenticate it but going over footage cant even find anywhere Savage using a chair during the match. It was falls count anywhere so makes sense, but anyone here recall or have link to any footage etc of that match and chair shot?

I mean you have a wrestler who worked hard to win a world title and kept it for sometime with his hard work and dedication...and then a MITB decides to cash in on a worn down and a tired champion and usually wins in under a minute because he has an advantage of being fresh...

Why not have MITB as in a no.1 contender for the world title instead of an unfair cash in?

Why not do a PPV which focuses on ladder matches only...instead of MITB?

One of my favorite wrestlers of all time, I enjoyed his run after 2002 a lot more...cool gimmick, very good inside the ring, lots of good matches, lots of feuds, very good in stoyline selling, very good at telling a story inside a ring...was a cool dude all round...there is a reason why he is called Mr. Wrestlemania...main evented lots of PPV's....highly ranked...

I am ranking him at no.6 in all time best wrestlers list.

Or will there always be Heyman, Bloodline or other window dressing involved to prop him up when he is an active wrestler? Could he succeed for the first time if tasked with carrying the water?

Pretty sure 90% or more have no idea who he is. He has to give a short history lesson and change that.

Crazy how he adds a chit ton of credibility to AOP and Cross and they suddenly all look like legit badazzes.

Cross has been floundering around long enough. Ellering could be the man to change that and probably the only “manager” who can match wits with Heyman.

It's becoming more and more common that we are getting what would have been PPV's in the past that are just trash barely better than an old episode of raw.

It's allowing things like reigns to hold the title and defend it 3 times a year because they don't need to sell PPV's anymore because they are "premium live events"

Compare that rubbish yesterday to NO way out 2002 the equivilent ppv from that year.

Chris Jericho vs Stone Cold for the undisputed title

Nowadays it's too much to ask for even Seth Rollins to defend the glorified intercontinental title.

Absoloute trash.

I felt this was needed.

vs. Chris Jericho (both their 2003 and 2008 feuds were amazing with some really good matches in it, solid mic work)
vs. The Undertaker (all their 3 feuds were well built generating 3 masterclass of matches of all time)
vs. Bret Hart (this would be the most popular choice of all posters, nice fued and nice matches)
vs. HHH (liked it for its history, seriousness and longevity)
vs. John Cena (solely for the matches it produced)
