I think it's pretty obvious after the Christchurch massacre. It was literally livestreamed via social media, and his manifesto (in parts) were almost word for word things you would find on White Nationalist social media.

I've no doubt that intelligence agencies are treating White Nationalists as potential threats (and are monitoring them via social media), so it's understandable why social media companies would begin clamping down. I fully expected this to be their response after Christchurch. Social media was an obvious part in his radicalization, and he popularized what he did via social media.



After Charleston, 22 July Norway, Pittsburgh, and Charlottesville, I think that Christchurch became the final straw. I expect that over this year, all social media is going to be becoming even more heavy handed with White Nationalists.

Once again I'll address your comments that "I don't understand freedom of speech", yet here you are trying to impose a concept which is protected from state interference onto private business and act like it makes you right. The reality is far more complex, most people are happy for freedom of speech to exist on digital platforms, however most people also don't want massacres to be streamed to themselves and their kids via shares, etc.

It would be great if everyone could say what they like online without need for restrictions, it'd also be great if the world didn't have so many prats who resort to basic tribal emotions to comprehend the world too, but this isn't something we have so companies have to find a balance between speech and their users. I doubt many people here are campaigning for groups like ISIS to be allowed on social media, where are all the "I'm outraged that ******** banned Islamic Extremism, support their freedoms!" of course they don't exist because most westerners are happy to not let total nutjobs spread their crazy ideologies.

Until people who pledge allegiance La Raza and the Black Panthers commit a number of well publicized massacres like White Nationalists have, I don't think they will be targeted.

I don't use ******** anymore and never will, so I don't really care. I would encourage others not to use it either as Zuck has no ethics or respect for privacy. Banning any talk of white nationalism or white separatism is not the answer. If anyone doesn't like their points of view or are worried about their spread, then make the argument they are wrong. Banning them just causes more frustration and reinforces the point white people can't advocate for themselves or their group like everyone else can. There is nothing inherently violent about white nationalism, if someone is advocating for violence ban them and investigate them.

The problem I see though, is the same problem I saw when I was a muslim...

Some Muslims used to complain about the media demonizing them, and I was thinking something like;"The suicide bombers, declaring that they are doing it for Islam are the one's demonizing muslims".Some muslims seemed to display more anger towards the media for giving muslims a bad reputation, than they did the muslims who committed the atrocities.

Just like White Nationalist are demonized because of people like the Christchurch shooter. Who not only livestreamed himself massacring people (including children) in a mosque, but also wrote a manifesto which included every fundamental White Nationalist argument. He successfully demonized White Nationalism, the mainstream media didn't livestream his massacre, he did.

Like my own personal example with muslims.... It seems that some white nationalists - since things like Charlottesville, Pittsburgh, and Christchurch - have been more vocal against the increased social media targeting and negative press of White Nationalists, than they are with the number of White Nationalists who have either carried out terrorist attacks/murders, or have been caught and convicted of planning to carry out terrorist attacks/murders.
