Exactly. Lewis is good guy and the fight was boring but he lost that.

49-46 lmao. These judges are getting worse

Don’t see Jon Jones beating Stipe at HW if he moves up tbh, unless he jumps back on the picograms then it could be interesting. And I’m guessing the winner of Corey vs that polish dude will fight jones next??? I can see Corey giving jones trouble if they fought

At this point it seems like anybody who fights Jones can take him to a decision. He’s had 2 finishes in the last 6.5 years. The overturned DC fight, and Gustafson. Even before that his prior 2 were Chael Sonnen and Vitor (middle weights). You have to go back to 2011 and Lyoto Machida to remember a day when Jones was regularly finishing legitimate 205 guys.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

If Reyes had a little bit more cardio he wins that fight. All he did was go in circles the last two rounds

lol what an utter travesty of judging. Some round scores just made zero sense. Judged sports will always carry this taint.

I completely agree that blatant inconsistency between those two fights is very hard to reconcile and casts a huge shadow of corruption on this event, but I can understand why people question the Jones decision he rightfully won that decision. Reyes did no real damage, was always moving backwards, and never took control of the octagon. Reyes put his best effort into those first three rounds and never even made Jones flinch. Jones walked through everything Reyes had and never stopped pushing him backwards and then dominated the last rounds.

Rightfully so, even rounds go to the champion especially when it is a dominant champion like Jones. Dethroning a legend should be clearly decisive not out pointing him with a volume of half blocked, grazing strikes in the early rounds and getting dominated in the last 2.

To get that decision Reyes needed to take some risk, going after Jones and put him in trouble at some point in the fight. At the same time he proved he is a serious contender and deserves another shot at Jones in Las Vegas this time.

The purpose of the 49-46 is to distract from how the other two judges STILL gave the fight to Jones despite Reyes COMFORTABLY winning the first three rounds.

Jon Jones is NEVER going to heavyweight.

It's so tough to beat the champ on a decision. You always have to go well above and beyond, even then you really need a finish to be truly safe. It's been that way since forever, not just in MMA but boxing too, that's the game.

Still can't believe the judge who scored it 49-46. Best case scenario for Jon should have been a draw.

lmao with every joke theres a little truth..I study a guy who gambles professionally and before we placed bets tonights he made it clear Texas has screwed people in the past. Their judges are very biased. America really needs to step up in terms of this ****..the wilder fury fight was obviously wrong..........theres a difference between getting a fight wrong and corruption and US Judges are fkin corrupt.....im embarressed

This, how did 2 judges give JBJ rounds 2 and 3? That is absurd.

I've watched that fight easily 50 times. Every time I watched it, I scored it either 4-1 or 3-2 Hendricks. Quit being delusional.

Homefield advantage definitely seemed to be the deciding factor in the Lewis and Murphy fights that I thought should have gone the other way but were very close fights so it is tough to argue. However the Jones fight was completely different considering the stakes and wasn't actually as close as it looked.

Jon is now facing much the same criticism as Anderson Silva got when his opponents were too scared to engage with him. Jon Jones has proven himself a legendary fighter by destroying legends and winning wars in the cage. After the first 2 minutes Reyes stopped trying to win and spent the rest of the fight trying not to lose, constantly retreating, throwing single pot shots on the way back, never once cutting off Jones' advancement or stepping up into the pocket to take him on and try to hurt him. The challenger has to beat the champion not just survive. There is no way he can honestly claim he "beat" Jon Jones and deserves to be champion. Reyes put up nowhere near the challenge Gustafsson and Cormier have to Jones. Those guys actually fought Jon, tried to beat him. Reyes tried to weasel out a victory running away hoping to out point him.

ESPN Headline, "Nothing left for Jon Jones at LHW"... literally right after he gets his ass kicked. He probably will move to HW now, dude will duck the rematch like he did with Gustafon.
