Any meat eaters agree with vegans?

It actually makes much more sense to go vegan. I've watched Vegan Gains debate meat eaters and he destroys them every time.

The reason I don't go vegan is because it will make zero difference. If I decide not to go to the store and buy chicken breast, the chicken is still dead. The chicken breast will either be sold to somebody else or thrown away.

Ultimately it comes down to selfishness though. Meat just tastes too good and I don't want to give it up.

Ethics/Compassion... I would go vegan.

Health... I'm staying omnivore. I'm not convinced that I can be healthy, and get all of the nutrients that I need, on a vegan diet.

I tried it, and my stomach does not respond well to grains and legumes. (Constant bloating, which is a very bad sign.)

I eat a Paleo Diet.

I am the same way as you. The chicken is already dead. I am just buying it. I also like the taste of meat. Would I go kill the chicken myself? I'd like to say no unless I absolutely had to eat something. Also, our world couldn't sustain itself if everyone were to eat meat. I'm going to enjoy the luxury of eating nonhuman meat while I still can...until overpopulation will force humans to be the only affordable meat source. After that it's every man for himself, but let's be honest I probably still wouldn't give up meat lol. gotta get dat protein somehow lmao

You alone won't make a difference, but it adds up, if less people are buying it then less will be slaughtered. If all of the vegetarians and vegans in the world started eating animal products now way more would have to be made.

I can see vegetarians points, but not vegans.

Less demand = less supply.
You alone won't make a difference, but a movement can. Movements can be seen as individuals making a common choice, or having common values and beliefs.

Vegan choices in restaurants and supermarkets are common, largely due to veganism becoming a more popular choice.

Again, I'm an omnivore... But that kind of reasoning IMO is a poor argument for apathy.

wtf, man animals don't have souls. that chicken im eating wouldn't have been created if we didn't breed it for food. Better to have lived a life to be killed than never to have lived at all.

The dairy industry is pretty fuked up too the cows are inseminated constantly to keep them producing milk and the babys are slaughtered for veal

Im a vegetarian but I get my eggs locally from chickens that can actually run around and are humanely treated and I dont consume dairy

Agree 100% with all arguments put forward by vegans/vegetarians. There are literally no justifications for eating meat from an ethical standpoint at all. My only issue right now is loving meat too much and being too selfish in that respect to cut it out completely, but I aim to do so gradually (hopefully by then, lab grown meat will be commercially available anyway).

What's the argument? Yeah you COULD survive on a vegetarian diet but why deprive yourself. Might as well be environmental too... sell your car, ride a bike, take the bus, be frugal etc. Don't buy that iPhone either its made by Chinese slaves!!

I don't like animal cruelty either but its not going to stop and its extremely unrealistic to believe the entire world will switch off meat. Can't even get people to stop taking drugs how you think they can do it with meat? If you really want to make a difference then support companies that have a proven track record of raising animals fairly.

theres a ton of promise with lab meat which is exciting. I loved meat, and still do but it seems extremely selfish that you can be just as healthy, if not more healthy eating a plant based diet but you choose to eat meat just bc it gives you pleasure and perpetuate the slaughtering of sentient beings that live chitty lives

I'm a hunter and I love hunting.

I have a primal urge to shoot something whether its cutting a chickens head off, shooting a deer for meat, or filleting a fish. Cutting a fishes head off and filleting it or field dressing a deer and pulling out all it's internal organs satisfies a primal gene in my body, and it's a great feeling knowing I can pack a fridge full of fresh organic meat that I butchered myself.

Yeah I get it but it's not about the industry with vegans, it's on principle. You've cut out the inhumane industry but a vegan still won't eat those eggs. You have a rational stance based upon ethics, you have worked out how to eat eggs without supporting animals cruelty. Fine. Vegans won't eat eggs because they're vegan, which is retarded.

Here's another example, there is no ethical reason not to eat mussels and oysters, since their level of sentience is not really distinguishable from a tree. But that's a no go for people who won't eat meat or seafood.

I have no respect for illogical stances.

When lab grown meat is commercially available, that chit will change the world. If I'm plucking a number out my ass, I bet around 80% of meat eaters share your exact same view. You'll always get the dumbass rednecks "More meat for me!" - "Bacon Tho!" but I think lab meat would put the biggest dent in it.

That's what I'm more concerned about. That the animals are treated well.

I buy free range organic eggs, and if I could afford it I would buy free range organic meat to eat.

No, vegans won't eat eggs because male chicks, and non-productive hens, are killed.

Free range or not.

Meat tastes too good sorry vegans

Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Pretty sure something like 56 billion farmed animals are killed per year by humans. The millions killed by accident suddenly seems like a fraction.
