The former is an actual biological condition where someone of one sex can have sexual characteristics, hormones, chromosomes, of the opposite sex. I do not. I said later in life, as adults, if they wish to transition, there should be a way to do so, after a lot of counseling and psychological treatment along with physical assessments. The only time I would think it reasonable to give hormones to a 5 year old is if we knew exactly what the physical issue was and the hormones would allow the person to live a more functional life.
