Sounds like it was Rivera who made the decision as well. Maybe he is finally having his mid life crisis and feels like he needs to change everything. Good for you Ron, good for you.

I think it may have been part of his 2 year extension. 2 years isn't very long and makes me think they gave him some demands that came along with the contract. In other news, apparently Norv Turner is at BOA right now.

I like Norv Turner's style of offense…
…I just don't like his style of offense with Cam as the QB.
And Cam is and will continue to be our QB for at least another season, if not more, for better and likely for worse.
With that in mind I'd much prefer we bring in a coordinator who can truly maximize Cam's talents…Ya know, like his talent for managing to overthrow 6'5 targets by a solid three feet.

I'm just sitting here wondering what happened to Riverboat Ron. Cam going insane in 2015 was obviously huge in making the SB, but Ron's insanely aggressive coaching was a big part of that as well. A new OC won't help much if Ron doesn't go back to that style of coaching.
And are there any stud TE's in the draft? I'd honestly rather grab a TE over a WR. Running an offense with two good/great pass catching TE's would be perfect for Cam.

Why did Carolina move Benjamin? I thought it was a weird move at the time, Benj was a reliable WR in a weak corp.

I think Norv left MN because Zimmer wanted total control of the team coming in, and they clashed. With Ron, he would obviously have total control over the offense. It seems like he is the most likely candidate since he and Ron are boys and we all know he hires his friends. If it doesn't work out, I would expect to see them both gone in 2 years when Ron's extension is up…chit Cam may even be gone too, who knows.

Idk about this guys. We definitely got the change weve been requesting, but is this the right change? It seems like its a positive move in the sense that all changes in this situation are positive moves. Just seems like nepotism here.

Hey guys, Vikings fan here, but Panthers are probably my 2nd favorite team (big fan of Newton, Kuechley, Thomas Davis, Olsen, Star, Short, C-Mac). A couple things:
1) The only way Norv's system can work is if you have one of the best OL's in the league. He is stubborn as a mule and will call 7-step drop after 7-step drop, regardless of whether the QB is getting sacked every play or not. The Vikings offensive line was horrible in 2014 and 2015, yet he kept calling deep drops which had Bridgewater (our QB at the time) running for his life on every down. Finally in 2016, they told Norv he had to change his scheme in order to keep our QB upright—and Norv quit his job w/us rather than do that. So just some food for thought there.
2) Do you guys have pretty bad buyer's remorse with Matt Kalil or no? He was one of the least popular players in MN just because his career started out so well, but then ended up absolutely tanking. Was he pretty bad for you guys this year? He didn't look good against the Saints. Even if he plays average, probably not worth all the $ you gave him. The Vikings actually offered him an extension, but he turned it down to sign in Carolina. Thus far, I'm glad we didn't retain him.

Carolina brags, thoughts on Steve Wilks? Heard he likes to blitz a lot which is right down the cardinals defense's alley lol. Believe he took your LB coach to be his DC. Panthers LB score is always joocy af if that's any indication..

"Yo, come on, we're Arizona State. They wouldn't give him (President Obama) a degree? Really? I mean, even if they offered him one, he should've been insulted. He'd be like, 'I went to Harvard.' I mean, come on, I barely went to class, and they passed me. It's Arizona [expletive] State!" - Terrell Suggs
