Protein makes me noticeably feel fuller than carbs or fats when I'm cutting. Carbs taste better and give me more energy

OP fraudin on seeing no difference eating huge amounts of protein, there's no way you've been up to 350g and not noticed your farts going from a mild aroma into room clearing chemical warfare.

80-90g of protein a day and I'm making gains perfectly fine. I used to religiously consume 1g per pound of bodyweight and it made no difference whatsoever.

High protein is 100% a scam.

It's really not though. What you crave is the seasoning. By all means a burger is delicious. But I can objectively say that a black bean burger is equally as delicious.

If you're eating whole natural, unseasoned foods, fruit would hands down be the most tasty.

Also taste is an afterthought, I am interested in testing if low protein gives better results.

New macros are 60g fat, 400g carbs, 50g protein. We're always told high protein because of all of this research, but has anyone tried anything like this?

Not for months on end you tard. But yes I did do it for 2 weeks. There was a point in time where I thought more protein meant more gains so I wanted to see what happened if I ate almost exclusively protein. It didn't work out so well.

What about that keto diet with 0 carbs and people saying they still have energy, in some cases more than before?

So many ways to go about it.

I have given no advice in this thread, I'm simply questioning why I've been eating high protein for the past 11 years.
I can remember busting my ass in college to eat every 2 hours, make sure to have at least 30g of protein a meal and get over 200g a day. Meanwhile: my brother and my roommate both had better gains/physiques eating under 100g and eating ridiculously high carb. That was when I started to realize maybe my muscles wouldnt fall off eating less than what many on this site at that time recommended. Been going lower and lower since then. Weigh about 215 right now and eat 100g (usually closer to 100) to 160g of protein with zero difference from when i was eating way more.

No no, I could never do that much fruit. I mean fruit would be good with my macro setup, but the bulk of my calories would come from things like brown rice or oatmeal.

I can respect that mindset, not like experimenting with protein intake is gonna actually harm you, so at worst you're just wasting a bit of time/potential progress. Regardless of the outcome you will have learned something. Sorry if you've already mentioned it, how long have you been following these macros? Curious to see how it pans out in the long run.

First, 50g protein is full retard. It's nowhere near enough.

That being said, if your protein is too high and you're not on a surplus, then your fat and carb intake may not be high enough to sustain healthy hormone levels. Especially if the carbs aren't complex and the fats aren't saturated or monounsaturated.

I honestly don't really notice the difference between 100g of protein and 300g of protein when bulking.

But boyo, let me tell you, when cutting it's all about high fat, high protein, low carb. Actually feel better when cutting than bulking srs.

Keto works really well for me too. Although other people I know have hated it, and I wouldn't recommend doing it too often or for too long a period a time. RIP kidneys.

The most underrate nutrient in bodybuilding is fat. The best thing I ever did was pump up my fat intake, srs.

Day 1. I'll re-evaluate on Sep 1.

Carbs are strongly correlated with strength, not protein. You wont find a competitive powerlifter in the world prepping on low carb. It's bodybuilders who drop their carbs and keep the protein high while dieting and they end up weak as fuk.

Ever done keto? It drops weight fast, but it's also a good way to lose all your strength in the gym.

Half of lbs as protein crew.

Literally doesnt make any difference for me going beyond 100g and i dont feel like i have to stuff food into me. Just one big steak, a can of tuna,my post workout shake and im good.

Steroid users are able to metabolize insane amounts of protein, nattys arent.

When bulking it doesn't really matter, because you'll probably eat a minimum of 120 grams of protein a day anyway without trying so there's no use stressing about getting extra protein in. Just focus on eating a lot of food.

However during a cut I prefer high protein (180-200 grams a day), only because of its satiety effects. It helps me train better because I'm not feeling hungry all the time.

But I agree, I made significantly more gains lowering my protein and upping my fats in particular.
