Bro, I wrote this out in Word, and then copy pasta'd it into the thread. Hence each post is like only a few seconds after the one before it. It's intended as one long single post, except that there's character limits when you post

havent read thread
how to make friends: have something people want
unfortunately thats a brutal reality. we use people
if they had nothing to offer we wouldnt waste our time
thus, bring something to the table; a talking point; a reference point, etc. have something to "give" and people will be attracted
even if its just a good time

One of the things to note when you see some of the negative posts in this thread, or any of the depressing stuff you were finding online, is that misery loves company. It's an unfortunate aspect of life that some of the "misery-oriented" folks in the world have an unwaving desire to drag others down to share their unhappiness. But there is a flip-side! Successful and happy people do the same thing. If you've "made it", there's a compelling internal desire to help/motivate others to reach their potential as well.
So when you see some of these bleak responses in any online communities, don't accept them as gospel truth. Rather, recognize that these people are unsatisfied with their lives......and their subconsciously attempting to drag you down to their level of self-loathing. It's a fact of life that some people don't like themselves.

It is not just that other people want to cry, they want to attack you for trying to help others out. Classic crabs in a bucket 101, a lot of these guys are the kinds you will see crying on the relationship forum and the misc about being FAs but then act all tough in this thread by attacking you.
Even though I am somewhat lonely right now (has improved in recent days!), I realize just how FAs are some of the nastiest and most evil people on this planet. Like every sick and twisted villain in movies is an FA and I cannot help but think the kind of evil messed up thoughts that go through the minds of these psychos who have to convince everyone life is h3ll. It is like society is avoiding them because of it but they want to drag as many people into their h3ll as they can, misery indeed loves company.
Most of these people cannot just rot, they have to actually post on the misc and on threads like this to stop others from improving their lives, truly sickening.

Great thread OP. Practical, I've been doing a lot of this stuff but it's a good reminder and how to pull it all together

That was a lot of words that I couldn't bring myself to read.
I just hung out at various bars, floating down the river, hanging out at the lake etc...and struck conversations with random people and eventually found people that I liked being around.

The length of the text is actually a great filter for people. If you're too lazy to read it, you'll certainly be too lazy to do it. If you can manage the effort to read it, there's some hope for you.
It's a lot to do, but step by step, and even just doing one of his suggested things would help. It certainly wouldn't make you any worse off!

OK I do but it's with some activity like I'm playing tennis or riding the bike and only one person is available. But usually try to get two others for tennis to play doubles, cause getting old. Or someone brings someone new who bikes too then there you have another bike buddy

Dang it - this is the issue I run into with my current lifestyle - lol, a lot of times I don't have as much downtime to write up some other things when they pop into my head (at least on my desktop with a keyboard - I ain't writing a lot on my phone).
For the people who are saying this is daunting/difficult to implement
There's two tools that I find incredibly useful:
1) OneNote (or the apple equivalent)

This thing is a lifesaver. I recommend learning all of it's capabilities. You know that saying that 99% of the public only uses like 4% of Excels funcitons? Same kind of deal with OneNote, which is a shame. Learn it's ins-and-outs, and download it on your computer, phone, and make sure it syncs with onenote online (https://www.onenote.com/hrd) so you can update it when inspiration strikes while at work or away from your phone & laptop.
I use it to:
a) Make a checklist of goals/plans for the day/week. And these are usually small actionable things like "send out a group text to team" or "set up latin clubbing outing"
b) Create a checklist tab on inspirational books to help me reach my goals (if you've been paying attention in my posts I've referenced a few already)
c) When I join a new team each sports season (or take a new class, etc), I learn everyones' names that first day, and list them out in a separate section in Onenote. I put their name + a descriptor. Listen, Dale Carnegie once said the sweetest sound to anyone's ears is the sound of their own name. You want to ALWAYS be on a first name basis by the second interaction of your newfound routine interactions with the other people.
Doesn't have to be anything complex either. In my Ultimate Frisbee tab, I have the list of teammates saying stuff like: "Josh - tall with bad goatee" and "Melissa - giant melons"
Once you start using it you'll wonder how you ever managed without it. If you don't have MS Office installed, it's free in the windows online store too.
Random google image to show what I'm talking about

2) Outlook calendar (or again, the apple equivalent)
With outlook, you want to be able to set up separate calendar categories for each of your social activities (ie, green for soccer, orange for volunteer stuff, blue for kickball, etc). By setting everything up in different categories, you can keep track of things way better. Also, set up additional categories for recurring events that can always serve as your "Plan B". Let's say plans fall through or are canceled on a Saturday. Click on the purple Plan B category and your calendar will show stuff going on that day - like your church always does a lake cleanup that day, or theres a college alumni weekly function. That's how I keep track of the various clubs in town that do salsa nights. Nothing happening on a Thursday? Click that category to call up recurring things and I'll note every Thursday there's a bar that does intro lessons and then a live salsa band. Off I go to meet latinas! So yeah, learn the ins and outs of this one too, get it synced on your computer, the outlook online website, and your phone app. I'm sure google calendar and apple calendar can provide similar functions.

Hell, those two may just be your intro to productivity tools. Again, the key to success is planning. Even in your efforts to live a social life as an adult. Take a look at app stores on your computer and phone at other list, calendar, notation apps.

Miscers will go to college/university, incurring thousands of bucks of debt, and study studiously (relatively) for 3+ years to get a degree. And will forgo sleep, and voluntarily endure stress over years to climb the ladder in their field/company.
Miscers also share tips and books about improving productivity, and health.
But when it come to loneliness or lack of dating life, there's a general cynicism and apathy. Very few seem to be willing to put in even a quarter of the amount of effort that they put into a career and making money, and apply themselves to developing a social life. (e.g. OP's advice, therapy, practising social skills, going on self help seminars, relocating, etc.).
(I am hoping this post will motivate some lonely, or FA readers to apply their drive and intelligence to creating a social and dating life. We're all gonna make it.)

Read everything OP posted. I guess this is good advice if you're an extrovert incel who desperately wants friends but doesn't have any. Anyone else just like being alone though? Seriously the thought of having a social calendar packed to the gills every week sounds phucking awful. I almost always enjoy doing an activity alone more than in a group, and if I don't do it alone all I need is one chick I like there with me. Simple.
