2 Degrees + entering into an MBA program crew.

I have two businesses I built/run for full-time income. I attend Uni for fun and to stack up marketable and complementary degrees as a back-up strategy should my business portfolio stop earning and I would require employment.





As for debt, I have none because I leveraged grant and scholarship money for my first 2 degrees. For my masters I will doing an assistantship or if I cant land an assistantship, will again go for scholarships. There is ZERO reason for a person to go into student loan debt... none.

















Most people I know with multiple degrees are people who have worked all over, have lots of experience, are highly successful and use each of their degrees to get the jump on the competition. With each degree they add to their collection, the more farther reaching each individual degree becomes because the disciplines intersect and make that person extremely valuable and diverse to companies.

Don't some people actually make a living being s full time student from grants and scholarships? They pretty much get paid by the school to keep going to school because they raise the average

I honestly considered doing this my senior year. There's something alluring my school/class life - learning, still being sort of care-free, etc. I imagine that people who go to grad school but don't NEED TO are thinking similarly.

fukk that. my 3 years and a quarter to get my degree was all i could handle

both of my brothers got MBAs and i couldn't even imagine doing more schooling

to be fair, they both make even more than i do, but at the cost of what?

Professional Student.

I was in college for 9 years, deferring student loans. Accumulated around 270 credit hours, and around $11k total in student loans. That was back when I could pay for state university tuition out-of-pocket working full-time in the summer at min-wage ($4.25/hr). I also got some pell grant money.

Finishing my master's which will be my fourth degree.

I have a career so I'm going part time, but i have the time and money to go on my own dime. I enjoy learning so it's a master's in something I enjoy studying and writing about. Would go for my phd part time but thats not really a thing unfortunately.

If you're going on 6+ years constantly changing majors and continuing to take out loans to pay for it, that's just delaying the inevitable. Would ask why it took so long if I interviewed someone like that srs

Was four semesters away from finishing my BS in accounting. Did an internship at a family friend's company and hated the work. Back at community college now for a second associate degree in engineering and transfer for bachelor's in engineering. When will it be mine turn srs

I'm a forever student myself. Though I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum. I hate school with a passion but I'm doing one class a semester.idk when I'll finish and I still have no idea what I'm doing. Work pays for it that's only the reason I continue

Agree with most posters ITT. A handful of my college acquaintances are still accumulating degrees and incredible debt with no real focus or plan for their lives. No doubt when they finish they will bitch incessantly about how evil the college system is and how debt needs to be forgiven...

Credential inflation. Back in the 90s I knew a woman who was one year short of high school who became a bank teller, was doing well and fast-tracked for management, she quit to go travelling. Five years later she's at uni doing science, and goes for some casual bank teller work - nope, no thanks, you need a Bachelor of Commerce.

Governments wanted to drop the unemployment figures so they stuck them all in university. Now you need a degree just to deposit cheques and change people's money.

Of course I don't need multiple degrees as a back up plan, but i'm also not arrogant enough to think that having one or none will be sufficient in the future. As for the relevancy of degrees, thats beside the point. The degree is a social requisite that will get you in the door.

Real Talk: A person with 2 degrees and 5 years experience will always get the job over someone with 1 degree and equal experience. someone gunning for a senior management position with a B/A in Business Admin and another Psychology will always be chosen over some random with a B/A and some experience.
