THERE IT IS. Typical democrat argument tactics 101. Call me a sexist, you fuk.
I'm not a democrat, I live in the UK. Like I said.
Also, what I said seems to be true...
That's literally what you spend most of your time on the misc doing, talking chit about women, you're well known for it.
So, if you don't like women, it's no surprise that you don't like her character.
I would be surprised if you did.
The movie did nothing to create tension or suspense, their pathetic attempt at "mystery" was really not done well.
I didn't see any mystery.
I didn't expect it to be good at telling a plot, and I was expecting a predictable story (most marvel origin films are like that... Thor, Captain America, The Hulk).
They filled in the details of her life way too fast and relied on the watcher's own preconceptions about what a girl's life might have been like in the '80's to build up her back story.
No, they showed specific memories.
They changed the story to fit their political agenda [snip],
I usually Neg for spoilers, but I just tried and I can't Neg you.
I preferred that change. The other direction it was heading I would have found really boring.
and filled it with cringy moments that were straight out of the Gillette ad ("Cockpit"?!).
1980s, one of few female in the Air Force.
It's not a stretch to portray one person as being a chauvinist (Do you honestly think that was a strech? From the 80s?). Military dudes can have crude humour too.
I have obviously seen every Marvel movie.
Go watch Iron Man 1 again, and look at how much time they spent building up his character. Notice his interaction with other people. Notice how they slowly revealed his vulnerabilities.
Dude... I was not expecting this to be like Ironman 1.
I was comparing it (going it to the movie) with Captain America 1 and Thor 1. I put it between Ironman 1 and Cap America 1/Thor 1.
This movie opens with pure action and never really gets any actual character development.
Standard Marvel story telling IME.
They failed miserably whether you are a card carrying, chit eating liberal cuck or not.
I don't know what is wrong with you today, we are normally cool.
It's a phuckin movie. Calm down.

I actually liked the movie too OP. It was a bit too cheesy with the girl power stuff at times, but overall I think it's a solid Marvel film.

Fuk off. They could have at least given her a good introduction, but instead, most of her character development is told to you in flashbacks, and they hope their liberal audience will fill in the details about her struggles. She had like a 2 s montage of flashbacks of her failing and getting back up, and that was supposed to be her overcoming adversity. Are you fuking serious? Absolute piss.

Genuinely telling people how I was pleasantly surprised by the film. Also, advising miscers not to let the misc dictate their perspective (too many people here seem overly concerned with getting misc approval, and avoiding negs).
But... I did know it would trigger Right Wing SJWs on the misc. I thought I would have some entertaining debates.

I noticed some of the SJW themes, and sometimes I thought they did it in a ham-fisted way, but sometimes (like the final montage, and what she said after she defeated the main bad guy) I thought they did it in a way that actually enhanced the story and completely fitted her character.

Venom was a legit ~2/10, The Predator was a legit ~2/10. If we're calling Captain Marvel a 2/10, then we need to re-jig the rating system to include negatives because Venom and The Predator would be like -6/10

It wasn’t a great film because it was an origin
That end scene though when she popped up was awesome!
Also that cat was a great character lol

And strong lol at people ITT claiming that the cockpit part war ridiculous. Yeah right, like the fukking Air Force in the 80s was a bastion of respect towards women. That was probably the most realistic part of the film lol.

They didn't do it well at all IMO. I just didn't give a fuk about her, and she became a superhero way too fast. You cried that I labeled you a sexist, then you labeled me a liberal in the very same post.I didn't use that to dismiss their argument. I addressed what he said and made my point. I labeled him in addition, but the labeling wasn't my argument. That's the difference.
The difference is that you actually hate women, and I'm not what you think a liberal is.

Again,
Nope. Solid 2/10. Why? Because it's a fuking disappointment. For an MCU movie, it should have been better. They could have done it Memento style. It could have had a lot more subtlety and mystery. Or they could have started it with her as a human rather than her in the Kree homeworld. They should have left that refugee chit out to make way for a secret invasion narrative. They should have had her be vulnerable and weak, but overcome those things. They should have demonstrated she was a hero before she ever got her powers. Captain America 1 did a great job developing his character at least. The action dragged on and the movie went longer than it needed to, but I feel like if they had done a similar kind of introduction of her character, it would have been much better. We should have seen her overcome adversity as a young girl, join up with the military, go through training, etc. They could have spent a lot more time on this, whether through flashbacks or through a direct narrative. They didn't do it well at all IMO. I just didn't give a fuk about her, and she became a superhero way too fast. Like all female characters, she tended to be perfect and flawless from the get go because every female hero is a fuking god damn Mary Sue. The bad guy was also not interesting at all. He was just a generic white nationalist. OFC. Fuk this movie.
