I Liked Captain Marvel's Character, Anyone Else?

I watched this movie today. I never listen to SJWs or Right Wing SJWs when it comes to choosing to watch a movie or not, but I admit that the misc got in my head, and I was expecting an unlikeable character but OK film.

I actually really enjoyed the film, but I liked her character even more.

I honestly see her as Ironman's counterpart. She's cocky, a wisecrack, and stubborn (like Tony Stark), but whereas Ironman gets his power from science and his analytical mind, Captain Marvel gets her powers from luck, and her intuitive and emotional nature.

Her and Nick Fury had a really good chemistry.

She's feminine, but she's still a tough character. I thought they did her backstory really well (through breadcrumbs), and I thought the scene where she stands up and realizes her full power was really good.

I think she's a really likeable character, and I'm looking forward to seeing her in Endgame and Captain Marvel 2.

Anyone on the fence, I advise watching the film. A lot of things in the MCU are tied to this film, and the 1st post-credits scene got me pumped for Endgame.

Just watched it yesterday.

One of the worst Marvel movies ever released. I'm by far one of the easiest people to please when it come to movies but this one was shiet compared to all the other movies Marvel puts out.

Honestly, I think the post credit scene won't have much of an impact unless you watch the movie.

The movie explains why Fury has her as a personal contact (and why he had a pager in 2018), and why she has a such a close relationship to Fury.

I loved the look on her face in the post-credit scene... She meant business.

You're retarded. She was a total Mary Sue. There is nothing likeable about her at all. How could you even enjoy the movie with all of the heavy handed propaganda in the film?

"Cockpit"? "Smile more"? "Young lady?" "I'm just a girl!" FUKING REFUGEES?! Seriously?

Fuk off. They could have at least given her a good introduction, but instead, most of her character development is told to you in flashbacks, and they hope their liberal audience will fill in the details about her struggles. She had like a 2 s montage of flashbacks of her failing and getting back up, and that was supposed to be her overcoming adversity. Are you fuking serious? Absolute piss.

Movie is a fuking 2/10. On par in disappointment with TLJ. SJW libcucks ruined another franchise congratulations.

I don't doubt it, but I can't make an opinion without seeing it first. I'm hearing so many polarizing opinions on the movie so I'm gonna watch it and see for myself.

The common complaints I'm seeing (sjw stuff aside) are:

- lack of direction
- wonky vfx (other than the de-aging of sam j)
- wooden acting

I'm trying to go in as neutral as possible to make my own judgment on it.

No bias at all. I was looking forward to seeing the character that's supposed to be one of the strongest right now and the one that's gonna help fuk up Thanos but they made her so lame. There was no real powerful villain either, no cool action scenes as opposed to movies likes Thor: Ragnarok. I would place the movie right above Thor 2 (I that that's the one). Idk..the movie was just super underwhelming to me. I can see why a lot of people didn't like it.

The same way I can enjoy movies involving the US military, despite the heavy propaganda (in case you don't know, the US military literally colludes with the script writers of Hollywood films... Like they probably did in this film, judging by the end credits).

Despite being left wing and anti-war, that doesn't stop me from enjoying those movies.

The Air Force backstory was set in the 80s, her childhood was in the 70s, and the movie was set in '95.

I know the misc doesn't like to believe it, but guys can/could be dicks to women, especially in male dominated sub-cultures. It was a believable context.

I genuinely think a lot of miscers don't like her because she's a woman.

Tony Stark is cocky, but people like him.

The Vision was incredibly powered from the get go, noone batted an eyelid.

Tony Stark and Spiderman crack jokes all the time, noone cares.

A woman superhero has the above traits, and people hate her.

I'm not an SJW, but I genuinely do think in this case that a lot of dudes don't like her for the sake of it.

They kept returning to flashbacks throughout the film, relating her personality in the present, to things that had happened to her in the past. They didn't just throw a montage out of the blue.

Seriously, they had her recovering her memory literally from the start of the film.

From the start of the movie (the training scene) she displayed a stubborness, and they showed that she had that from a child, that's how the montage tied in. No matter how she hurt herself, or was told off, she doesn't stop... It was her stubborness that helped her become Captain Marvel.

Except they didn't do it memento style. There was no mystery and slow unveiling of who she was. They didn't give her a backstory, and we didn't care about her. They jumped into the action way too fast because they seem to think their audience is a bunch of fuking idiots (and they are). Yeah sure "men were dicks". Whatever dude. They didn't even show anything about her at all. It was the most generic back story ever. Nothing memorable about this movie. I don't even remember the name of the bad guy except that he was a generic white bad man nationalist who wanted to destroy the poor wittle refugees. Fuk this movie.

That refugee chit was honestly the last straw. They put that in PURELY for political reasons.

No, memento tells the story backwards.

I don't think it's reasonable to compare it to Memento, Christopher Nolan structured that movie in a very unique way.

I would suggested comparing it to a movie like Gothika, in regards to how they deal with a person recovering memory over time.

THERE IT IS. Typical democrat argument tactics 101. Call me a sexist, you fuk.

The movie did nothing to create tension or suspense, their pathetic attempt at "mystery" was really not done well. They filled in the details of her life way too fast and relied on the watcher's own preconceptions about what a girl's life might have been like in the '80's to build up her back story. They changed the story to fit their political agenda (skrulls = refugees), and filled it with cringy moments that were straight out of the Gillette ad ("Cockpit"?!). I have obviously seen every Marvel movie. Go watch Iron Man 1 again, and look at how much time they spent building up his character. Notice his interaction with other people. Notice how they slowly revealed his vulnerabilities. This movie opens with pure action and never really gets any actual character development. I'm saying I can write a better script that STILL fulfills their politically biased aims without being as cringy and heavy handed, AND have a better development of character. They failed miserably whether you are a card carrying, chit eating liberal cuck or not.

Example: Star Trek Discovery.

Example: Star Trek Discovery.

Right Wing SJWs when apechit when they discovered that the pilot had an Asian Female Captain and Black female 2nd in command. They said that it was blatant SJW pandering, the end of Star Trek, etc.

Despite the history of Star Trek (literally the first series) being racially diverse, and Star Trek Voyager having female captain, and Star Trek Deep Space 9 having a Black Captain.

They also promptly shut up, when it was revealed that the Captain for the remainder of the series was going to be a white male.

They literally went from hysteria to silence.

Captain Marvel is my least favourite character with a feature film, but that’s probably not surprising considering she’s geared towards girls. I have no doubt there are plenty of girls out there who love her and what Marvel did with the character

only reason this movie didn't flop was because it's connected to the highest grossing superhero movie and will be relevant in it's sequel, if it was a standalone nobody would've bothered.
