no, panicking is realizing you have no food stock because you've been too busy laughing at people being prepared before you.
You just compound the problem for no statistical reason at all. You remind of the guy saying he is just smart and predicted the panic to buy goods so he went out and bought everything up. Not realizing he just created the exact same problem out of panic.

There is no reason to be buying 1 years worth of toilet paper, or 4 months of rice. If everyone was just rational and normal nothing would have to change. So you may think you're smart but in fact you're no better than the knee-jerk buyers because your actions are producing the same snowball effect.

This virus is just displaying how embarrassing normal people are, and how manipulative social media is really becoming. We've had statistically worse outbreaks but these days everything has to be a huge drama, a huge draw. People are doing more damage to themselves than the virus ever will. In fact you could probably have it, get over it and not realize what it was.

Human nature breh. It's inevitable that people will knee jerk react. It's retarded for sure, but that's unavoidable. If you we're relying on people not losing their chit, guess what-you are fukked. Now waiting for pallets of stuff at Walmart along with the other retards. That's why it's smart to have a 3 month supply of food *before* the panic sets in. I got my chit, stores restocked, and there's more for others because of my planning.

It's all unverifiable rumors and people saying that they can't say X, BUT...

Prior to this I had heard we had until the end of March. Now it sounds like you have through this Friday.

I believe Trump said this more than once in his speech re:flight coming in from Europe and the scuttlebutt is that the public 1) will be given upsetting news about the virus, 2) will be seeing restriction/quarantine (notice multiple times we are being told to do whatever our local "health authorities" tell us to do), 3) will have reason to be angry at some wealthy people, or alternately will see the wealthy being protected/treated better...sometimes this may be accomplished by news items that someone is "self-isolating".

Again, unverifiable.

Oh, and speculation that Iran and Italy *may* possibly have a mutated/worse version of the virus which could fit with banning flights from Europe. Or it could just be the Chinese have been lying as has been widely suspected.

I thought the toilet paper thing was a joke until I went to the store last night to get some.

I spoke to a doctor the other day and right now they aren't concerned and say it's still a little overhyped.

It's not just the panicking. There are regions in China where plants have been shut down since Jan. Even if they opened today, product wouldn't get here until May.

Last week a grocery store near me was completely out, but the Target next door had plenty. The Wal Mart on the other side of town had dwindling supplies. Now they're limiting purchases at Target...so whatever is out there now won't likely be around for much longer.

This.

A lot of people don't seem to realize how big of an impact this is having, and will have.

Multi-million dollar events are being cancelled around the world, and tourism is suffering massively.

More areas around the world will be quarantined, and businesses will either close or cut staff.

Italy in chaos right now. All shops, apart from supermarkets, are closed. They've also suspended Mortgage payments, and are shovelling money into the healthcare system which is struggling.

It should never be time to panic, but it's definitely time to be prepared. I took some measures, but I need to step it up this weekend.

I've been routinely checking the store shelves in different stores locally, nothing is changed thankfully minus no hand sanitizer and Clorox. Trying to figure out what to make a list for to order this weekend.
