Now you’re talking. We can only theorize the beginning in possible ways that our brains are capable of. It’s possible that a creators method of creation is a Big Bang style beginning.

Not talking of God as some man in the sky as much as a force or central energy outside of space, time and matter itself. I don’t think we’ll ever have definitive answers to these questions unless there’s an afterlife. When others are so sure that a creator doesn’t exist based on what other people have told them, they’re more closed minded than many of the religioncels they look down on.

The Big Bang and creationism both stem from the inability of the human brain to comprehend something that has no beginning. What if the universe was always there and there is no beginning or end? It's impossible for us to reconcile in our minds that there is no beginning of time.

You can only theorize, because you can't observe the universe from the outside. I think there was a big bang, but there wasn't just one. I think it is a cycle, where the universe continues to expand to a certain point, and then at some point it will start to contract, back down to a singularity, or a single dense mass, that continues to compress until another big bang happens. But the space around us is probably infinite, and we can't fathom what could be outside of that. We can't fathom nothingness, because everything has a reference point. Nothingness has no reference point.

That's probably why people choose to believe in a deity. It's easier.

I think pretty much all scientists would concede they have no idea what, if anything, was before it, or even how it could happen in the first place.

It works as a theory to explain how the universe seems to be behaving now, and then logically, they have theorized a 'starting point'.

Maybe it lets them 'chalk it up', so they can crack on with other scientific work, and not go mad thinking about it? But the mystery remains, and probably always will.


Which is a good thing maybe? We can go out on a nice clear night, look up at the stars, and wonder. Without some goddamn egg-head having explained it all away.
