Sorry to burst your bubble. You’re not.

Just flat out, you’re not going to be able to build a social circle outside of school.

The best you can do is have coworkers that you grab a bite with or a drink with after work that talk about work or sports. This could lead to a more stronger friendship after like 2/3 years of working together.

People don’t want to make new friends, majority of people stick with their high school, college or work friends.

You’re not going to go to a meet up or softball tournament or coed soccer and meet a girl to date or build friendships. People go to these things WITH THEIR CURRENT FRIENDS! Not for some misc/reddit goober to try befriend them.

Other stupid advice I’ve read online about making friends is going to a restaurant to try make friends, going to a park or museum. None of this will work. You’re not going to make friends at the zoo or aquarium.

Put it this way, you could drop me off in anywhere USA and in the first year I would have multiple friends. You vibe with people who are congruent or who compliment and enhance each other's lives. You have to look at your own life and ask 'would I want to be friends with myself?' and if the answer is no, then you need to make some changes with yourself before you can bring other people into your dysfunctional existence.

What do you offer to a friend? I say this because you have to first be a friend to have real friends.

I can’t wait to get to a beach in Bora Bora or somewhere like that so that I would have LESS of a social life. Spear a lobster, grill it on the beach, sheit like that. Why do you people want a social life? You want to hear about people’s pointless lives? About how they went to Paris last month, or how their kids got into some communist college and rented a room? Who cares? You want to go to some terrible movie with some stupid whore? Lol at social life.

Eh? Isn’t the entirely ruling out of the workplace as an avenue for potential relationships (friendly or romantic) the close-minded attitude?

I’m literally advocating being open minded as to where one can find relationships.

You are, of course, free to rule out the work place, that’s entirely your prerogative, and you may have particular reasons for doing so. But keep in mind that most people spend an obscene amount of time at work, thus one might be cutting off a good source of potential relationships.

Not to mention, the basis of most relationships is that of commonality and shared interests, thus where you work is something you will have in common.

You need hobbies. Grown men don't just hang out for no reason like high school kids. They need a reason and the reason is the hobby. Sports, mma, rock climbing, shooting etc
