Here is a 3 mile by 3 mile square.
Look how fukking many subways there are within walking distance of ASU.
And thats not even a high density city where they are probably even closer.

I was working Construction for like a year after college, and ended up going to Subway every day for like 3-4 months. $5 footlongs was definitely a good deal for the amount of food.

Are you old enough to remember pre $5 footlong and they had the special knife that cut the top of the sub roll so it looked like a subway?

Why, one may ask?
Their bread.
The only couple times I tried them long, long ago and their bread was too thick and ate like hardtack.
Maybe I'm in the minority here and most dig that or maybe they've even changed since my experience with them….I don't know.
Togo's was a west coast popular deli and their bread was dialed in and consistently soft and the sandwiches were good.
I hope they can get it together and stay relevant because they employed people.
Any eating establishment is a tough, competitive business that has to be open 7 days a week.

Subway went downhill as soon as they stopped cutting the top off the bread like a canoe and went to the side.

Honestly bros, I'm sick of apps and coupons. Just make the chit in the store the price you advertise on the apps/coupons and take away one more barrier the customer has to navigate to get a cheap meal.
I remember when I could just walk into a store/restaurant and get the lowest price on stuff.

I honestly think Subway should change its name. Everything associated with Subway is negative. And that god awful green/yellowcolor is a turn off - reminds me of puke. Rename, rebrand, and recolor.

Based on the provided search results, here is the relevant information:
For $3 in 1980 adjusted for inflation:
Cumulative price change: 281.28%
Average inflation rate: 3.09%
Converted amount: $11.44
Price difference: $8.44
Using this information, we can calculate the value of $3.69 in 1980 adjusted for inflation:
Start with the original value: $3.69
Apply the cumulative price change: $3.69 × (1 + 0.28128) = $14.15
This is the equivalent value of $3.69 in 1980 adjusted for inflation.
Note that this calculation assumes a constant average inflation rate of 3.09% over the entire period from 1980 to 2024. In reality, inflation rates varied from year to year, but this calculation provides a reasonable estimate of the value of $3.69 in 1980 adjusted for inflation.

3.69 adjusted for inflation from the 1989
Based on the provided search results, we can determine the inflation-adjusted value of $3.69 in 1989 as follows:
The average inflation rate from 1989 to 2024 is 2.69%. Using this rate, we can calculate the inflation-adjusted value:
$3.69 (1989) × (1 + 0.0269)^n ≈ $7.59 (2024)
where n represents the number of years between 1989 and 2024 (35 years).
Therefore, the inflation-adjusted value of $3.69 in 1989 is approximately $7.59 in 2024.
Note that this calculation assumes a constant average inflation rate of 2.69% per annum, which may not reflect actual market conditions or variations in inflation rates over time.
