two guys that have a solid chance at starting:
Adams - definitely our punt/kick returner, could very well end up our full time slot receiver
Josh Norman - I think he will definitely start. Outside of Gamble, we have no set in stone #2 cornerback, and if the scouting reports are true, Norman could end up being that guy.

and Alexander will be a rotational guy from the start.

Sure, some of these dudes will be starting due to the fact our current starters are ****, but still.
Add in Greg Olsen with our 3rd round pick. Hell of a draft season.

hmmm, interesting that we were planning on drafting Coples and playing him at DT if Kuechly was off the board…

kinda confused as to why we went from potentially taking a DT first round to not taking a single one all draft

I'm guessing with that they figured Coples being able to be a very good pass rusher from the DT spot and they weren't worried as much about the run stopping aspect? Maybe they didn't think there were any other pass rushing DT prospects available with our other picks, I'm not sure. I sure hope the young DTs step it up a lot, though. I think every other facet of the team will be improved.

Beason was never against drafting Kuechly. a couple of days before the draft he was on WFNZ (CLT sports radio) and they asked him about Kuechly and he said he liked him and would have no problem if he was drafted

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d...s-would-be-fit

Cliffs:
-Jacoby Jones visits
-May sign
-Ideal fit due to Carolina not really having a true #2
-Can return
-Armanti probably gone

IMO I'd rather them try to bring Shockey back considering we have Adams to return now and Houston gave Jacoby unlimited chances to be a good number 2 behind Andre and he never evolved… I guess if the price is right but consider me skeptical.

I don't see Jones fitting in well. We already have so many 30-40 catch a yr recievers on our team and thats what he is. If we didn't bring in Adams i would love him to be a punt returner but thats about it

We don't have enough receivers. If he catches 40 balls, he'll be a good fit.

I don't want someone older with roughy the same talent level taking playing time from Gettis/Lafell. Now is the time when we have to decide if they're going to be able to develop into a front line receiver or not and having someone like Jacoby come in and take time away from them is only going to slow down progress.

Jones signed with the Ravens

I think Ajirotutu could break out this year. everyone forgets he is on the roster and he is a big, young receiver like LaFell and Gettis

Not a Jacoby Jones fan either, Lafell has been decent and we will see how effective Gettis will be this year. Plus we just drafted Adams and last year we drafted Pilares and i expect they want to use them somehow. On a side note;

Raiders WR Louis Murphy traded to the Panthers

Louis Murphy doesn't have to worry about getting cut by the Oakland Raiders after all. He's found a team with a much greater need at wide receiver.

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports reports that Murphy is headed to Carolina via trade. Terms have not been disclosed.

It makes sense that the Raiders would get what they could for Murphy. They have Denarius Moore, Jacoby Ford, Darrius Heyward-Bey, and great depth at the position.

It also makes sense that the Panthers would add a young, productive player. Murphy led the Raiders' receiving corps with 41 catches and 609 yards as a 23 year old in 2010. He can be inconsistent, but has shown big-play ability since entering the league. Carolina's wideout group is wide open after Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell.

Acquiring Murphy is a sign that Carolina might not be sure what it has with reserves David Gettis, Seyi Ajirotutu and rookie Joe Adams. Former third-round pick Armanti Edwards seems as good as gone from the roster.

Cam Newton needs more weapons around him in the passing game. Murphy is worth taking a flier on.

I doubt he would have beaten out Bell tho after how well he played last year, plus you can't trust a guy like him who is always hurt and not to mention his lack of work ethic. Glad we at least got something for him.

Good output from the 1's last night. Can't wait to see 3 Quarters of them against the Jets next week. Also hoping to at least in a limited role see Beason, Gettis, and possibly Davis.
