tailgated before the game next to the stadium and tried to scalp some tickets, but to no avail (cheapest we found was an honest older guy who wanted $150 for 2 in the upper section. some were wanting that EACH for upper level). last night might as well been a damn Giants home game. it is the thing that I hate most about Panthers home games, that there are often just as many away team fans as Panthers. it's pathetic

met a chick last night who was 24 and has lived in Charlotte for 22 of those years and was a Giants fan. her excuse was she "inherited" it b/c her fam is from Jersey (looked like a Jersey Shore sloot too. wouldbang/10 tho). shiit excuse IMO.

and Cam needs to get over this "Mr. Mopeyhead" demeanor as Rivera called it last year. Rivera needs to go over there next time and snatch that damn towel of his head and tell him to man the fug up!

Defense needs to learn to make a stop after the offense scores and the offense needs to be able to do more than 3 and out after the defense (rarely) makes a good stand. We are HORRIBLE at sustaining momentum.

I let today's game sink in before making a post and I'm less upset by this game now. It's not like last week where we were dominated in every aspect. We actually played a damn good game that in most cases would have resulted in a W. sucks that the game is gonna be defined by one play(cams fumble) and everyone will dismiss we hung with arguably the best team in football.

Next week we get Seattle. They're good but if we play them the way we played Atlanta we will be fine. Hate how we dig ourselves a hole to start every season. When will it be our turn to be in the 3-0/4-0 crew

Whenever Hurney stops going bargain hunting on the FA market for positions of need

There were better safeties out there than Nakamura. Safety better be draft priority #1 for 2013

Interior linemen is and has been our biggest need since Jenkins left. No pressure from the inside directly affects how the rest of our defense plays. Secondary cant cover people for 15 seconds every play.

IMO it's
1) DT
.
.
.
.
2) safety

Obv if there is an elite safety prospect available and no notable DT, you go safety tho.

I agree. On top of that you can generally not spend much money at safety and get decent production. Nakamura simply can't play and needs to be benched immediately. Next offseason just pick up an average guy unless there's an Ed Reed-like guy available in the draft.

Anyone else think an offseason purge and a re-rebuild is what's best? The way this team is constructed, I honestly can't see it getting much better. We're up against the salary cap and continue to lose way more games than we win.

Too many bloated contracts for, at best, average players. I've come to realize that the only thing Hurney is good for is hitting on first round picks.

We need a purge of the front office and coahing staff. We have talent on both sides of the ball, just not enough. I don't think Jerry cares about winning at the end of the day for this team to ever become anything more than a team that makes the playoffs every 3 or 4 years.

As far as our needs, I think DT and DE are more important than safety and corner. Giants don't have the greatest players on the back end and have suffered lots of injuries back there, but they can get after the QB and that makes up for the guys on the back end. Hurney has not invested chit on our defensive line aside from CJ.

Don't forget trading a 1st round pick to move up and take Everette ****ing Brown.

Rivera as a dc? Frankly he needs to go along with hurney and McDermott.

Need an entirely new regime. Sucks, but this one seems to be a failure. Chud is the only one I like, but he's far too inconsistent.

The good news is maybe we will be in the rams position this year and have a high pick with tons of demand for it. I hate the coaching but I'm sticking by Cam; I dont think he has been as bad as people are saying.

doesn't matter tbh

going nowhere with Hurney and Rivera, and we're stuck with them for at least one more season. dat 3 year window new HC's get. he'll prob get fired midseason in the 2014-15 season.

hopefully Cam isn't ruined by then. If they'd treat him like a normal quarterback we'd be like 3-3 right meow.

So Hurney out. Long overdue. drafting Clausen, trading a 2nd round pick(ended up being 2.1) for Armanti Edwards, Jake Delhomme deal, not getting anything for Peppers, yearly ignoring of the interior line and filling in random reject DT's from other teams and thinking it will be effective, wrapping up like $80m in running backs(I love our RB's btw) and not demanding your coach to use them, complete incompetence in rounds 2-7(although 100% effective in the first round), tons of free agency blunders, absurdly overpaying to keep average homegrown talent, giving chance after chance to terrible players because he drafted them… etc etc etc.

I think we need to do a full on purge this offseason. I mean everyone with the exception of like 2 guys and all of our rookies.

Is it bad I (srs) think that we'd be a BETTER team next year if we released ALL of our talent except for: Cam, Stew, Kalil, Silatolu(not that I think he's anything special, but he's a rookie so he's on the list), Kuechly, and Norman.. and just filled in the spots of the players gone with draftees and (cheap) free agents? I mean seriously. How many mediocre/average players do we have that are among the highest paid at their positions?

Cut: DWill, Tolbert, Charles Johnson, James Anderson, Olsen, Godfrey
Restructure deal, and if they refuse, cut: Gross, Gamble, Beason

Probably missing some names, pretty tired right now.

Also, I don't know what to do about Smitty. He is seriously my favorite athlete of all time and it's not even close. It just comes down to whether you're dedicated to sticking with Cam(which I am) and if you think his attitude is detrimental to Cam's development. I personally think it's overblown, and wouldn't mind resigning Smitty, but you just don't know.. many conflicting reports.

Glad to see JR isn't gonna sit and wait to fire him like he did with Fox. I wish they'd can Rivera and bump up Chud to see just how much Rivera was involved in our offensive scheme change. If Chud is responsible for changing to this gimmick bullshiit, then can him too.

The regime change has begun, and I for one, am excited.

Teams contacting Panthers about Williams. I like him but they should trade him. Contract is too much and apparently the coaching staff isn't interested in using him correctly.

I'd trade him for cap relief alone, don't even need picks. HUGE DWill fan, but Stewart as a full time back is fapworthy, and we just have too much $ tied up in RB's.

Hope we can trade some other contracts too. Wouldn't mind seeing Charles Johnson & James Anderson walk.

If teams are willing to take on $17.5m over 3 years for an old, albeit still good, running back(which is arguably the easiest position to plug in randoms and get decent success) I'd bet teams would take a risk on a pass rusher that at times can play as good as any 4-3 DE in the NFL.. so there is hope. Wish NFL was like MLB where you can trade off contracts like it ain't no thang.

You've got way more faith in other teams than I do. Johnson has had 1 good game all year.

Trade Williams, cut Johnson (if it fits for the cap), get rid of Anderson, move Gross to RT, and I hate to say it but trade Smith. Oh and fire the **** out of Rivera.

Trade Williams, cut Johnson (if it fits for the cap), get rid of Anderson, move Gross to RT, and I hate to say it but trade Smith. Oh and fire the **** out of Rivera.
cutting Big Money would kill our cap, so he is here for the next few years unless a trade happens. Anderson has been one of our most consistent LB's, so i'd like to keep him. He was tops in tackles last year. Agree on moving Gross to RT. he's just not what he used to be.

I think its time for Smitty to hang up the cleats and the Panthers start finding his replacement (i'd love to get Bowe from KC). and yeah, RR is gone after this year unless they put together a miracle comeback and finish at least 7-9. GM search is going to mean the most to this team in the next 6 months

Lol wut? especially Godfrey, he's been playing great this season, don't mind his contract at all. I am in favor of trading d-will for something, his contract is just too huge compared to his production.

And Rivera has lost the players

Reports are that the defense did in fact only call one coverage the entire last Bears drive. Players are calling the coaches on it (even Cutler).
