Dan Connor is a 2 down MLB. good run stopper but not that great in coverage

Louis Murphy supposedly has speed, but I never saw it in Carolina. dropped a lot of passes. could never surpass LaFel as the Panthers' #2 WR

When healthy he is a dangerous return man and will add a speedy WR to take some pressure off 89. Not a blockbuster by any means but compared to our current options its a step in the right direction

I mean forreals, most of the time I have a general idea of what record to expect(even though it's usually wrong, I am confident about it at the time) but I am so lost for this season.

If everything goes right..
-Beason stays healthy, handles the transition to WLB(actually with Davis coming back strong next year playing WLB will Beason be the SLB with Anderson gone?)
-Hardy/Johnson put up another strong year. This is actually very likely IMO, Johnson has always been solid and Hardy broke out last season and is entering a contract year.
-Kalil comes back strong(forgot this ***** went down last year, that was huge for our o-line struggles)
-we draft another starter in the first round
-Cam proves his 2nd half wasn't a fluke(and I don't think it was)
-one of our many corners, which as of now is just a group of undersized nickles and Josh Norman, steps up(unlikely)

blah just writing that, and that's like half of what has to go right, doesn't get me very excited. it could be a rough year brahs.

Cam is the x-factor like all quarterbacks, if he becomes what we all think he can be, it's gonna mask a lot of problems and make us a competitor.

Darin Gantt thinks that if Carolina misses the playoffs, the teams going to get gutted down to a very select few players(he said Cam/Kalil/Olsen/Johnson/Kuechly).

Anyone else think this should've been done this year? With the exception of rookies/guys on deals that expire this season(such as Hardy, LaFell, etc).

I think cap-wise it couldn't be done this year. We would have had so much dead cap space. Honestly outside of a few people (mostly ones you mentioned), the Panthers sre all replacement level players or slightly better with bad contracts.

I see another 7-9ish year next year. Feeling pretty pessimistic right now.

It's just next year it's going to be the same case, we'll take ridiculous penalties then as well. Better to take the hits now(if it was even possible) by getting rid of the dead weight than later.

We've got some pretty big extensions coming up with Hardy and Cam..

I almost JIMP at the bar when I saw that he had made it all the way to our pick. It took the Panthers all of 30 seconds to get that pick. This is our year damnit!!!! This scenario playing out just shows it! Our luck has hopefully turned around. I'm getting even more drunk and going to bed.

Good night!

Definitely one of the best front 7 in the NFL now. I was expecting Jamar Taylor or DJ Swearinger, but when you have a great DL you dont really have to have great DBs.

WR isn't a huge need until 2014 draft. Smitty, LaFell, Hixon, Gettis, Ginn. Throw in Olsen and Tolbert. Plenty of players to throw it to, and stretch the field when DT has been our biggest need for a couple of seasons. Read as: DT is by far a more glaring need, and adding talent to the front seven brings more immediate satisfaction to a fan base that needs to see some wins and a playoff team NOW.

Honestly, I wanted Jamar Taylor when the pick came up, but I'm not mad. I love me some big uglies (no homo). Great teams are built in the trenches. Ours looks legit for the next few years.

Really wish we had a 3rd rounder. Rest of the night is boring now.

honestly, our secondary didn't play that bad towards the end when we had Dockery and Thomas at CB. Gettleman seems to think that Norman will be an improved player this year as well. If our D-line can perform how we all are going to be hoping they will, secondary won't look as bad. tomorrow will be a big day to see what kind of depth we can get

I'm hoping we sack up and take a flyer on Da'rick Rodgers if he is there in the 5th. yeah, he has character issues, but he is a legit #1 WR

I would like a WR. Truth be told I don't pay much attention to CFB so outside of Star…no idea.
