This applies to every sport except baseball tho. For example Jim Brown would be chit in todays NFL.

I would like to see Messi playing for other leagues and not just training league aka La Liga.

Oh wait, he is too scared to be exposed like internationals.

Also, notice the way he plays now without Xavi, Iniesta's time is almost over.

Poor Ibrahimovich, he thought EPL was like Ligue 1 and defenders would gladly let him through just like D'Maria, Schweinsteiger and the others thought then quickly left EPL afterward.

Cristiano Ronaldo passed the test and he doesn't need to prove anything to us anymore.

Messi on the other hand needs to, dominating against training teams in La Liga doesn't count.

I'm gonna feel bad for him tomorrow, the BBC (Bonucci Barzagli Chiellini) is gonna toy with him.

Funny how Champions League creates legends. 4 weeks ago it was all about Neymar.

CR7, objectively speaking, is better with his head than Messi, but not better with the ball on his foot. I don't care how many White Chocolate Williams tricks he has, if I need someone to net from 30 yards, it's Messi.

Anyone who knows a god damn thing about football would not compare CR7 to Pele or Maradonna let alone Messi. Have any of you watched Ronaldo lately? He has been a goal hanger the past 4 years (since 2013) and although I have to give him respect for reinventing his game and still scoring bags of goals he is not comparable to Messi at this point. There are bout 10 players I would take before him today without blinking an eye. But then again this is the Misc, where nobody really follows football all that much and tunes in to watch the odd CL match once in a while so this is expected. You people are seriously living up to the stereotype that Americans no nothing about European Football, keep it up.

This is the only place where a guy that scored 2 offside goals is lauded for his performance, LMAO @ you *******s.

If anyone on argentina deserved it, it has to be a defender most likely mascherano.

I have no clue how messi got any praise for the 2014 world cup at all, he was the centre piece of a useless argentinian attack which only scored 1 normal time goal in 4 knockout stage games, they were carried by their defense who didnt concede anything and luck with penalties

Messi has taken over a third of Iniesta's role. Him and Rakitic are basically running the show from mid-field. This is not the best Barca XI they have put forth, but the missing piece is Dani Alves. Pique is basically playing defense alone.

Going on record now, they will pull it out of their ass and advance today.

Honestly this is the worst Barca side in over 10 years, no movement, no penetration, no motivation. If Neymar and Messi can't produce a moment of magic, GG. All Juve need to do is put 3 guys on Ney and Messi and the rest of the team will continue passing the ball sideways.

BBC. With Khedira sitting infront of them as well. Arguably the best defense in Europe alongside Bayern

Is this the world class defense everyone is talking about?

For the record, I love Dutch total football, but lol at thinking defenders back then can keep up now.

I agree big time

in 1998-2008 we had stamn, desailly, maldini, cannavaro, thuram, adams, terry, ferdinand, vidic, nesta etc etc

2008- present is nowhere close, they are athletes that can make up for their mistakes with speed rather than good defenders

I'm not sure how a guy who couldn't even score on the USA soccer team when it mattered most is the GOAT of soccer.
