OP - notice how every single person in here is telling you to go NC?

There’s a proven formula here. She won’t change her mind, come crawling back and everything will be like a Disney movie.

The relationship is irreparably damaged, permanently.

If you do ANYTHING but go NO CONTACT tell yourself it’s the WRONG move.

I’ll make it real easy for you.

Step 1: BLOCK her number. You can’t have any temptations if she contacts you.

Step 2: BLOCK all social media with her. You should not see her partying it up with other dudes, and she will and already is.

Step 3: Go buy yourself a gift that you’ve wanted.

Step 4: Time heals all, refocus on you - work, school etc.

Listen to me, that girl no longer exists. She sat in bed for however many months and thought about not being with you. She had countless nights of deciding if she likes you enough to stay, if you're "good enough" for her.
The first time I read this post I glazed over this comment but you need to let this comment soak in ^^^^ (srs).

She didnt decide to leave you overnight, it was a process thats probably been going on for months. Shes been thinking that she deserves better than you for a long time. She has been thinking about you and that you dont make her happy for a long time. She has been thinking about the fact that she cant see being married to you for a long time. She has been thinking that there are better and more exciting sexual situations that she would like to be in for a long time. When she kissed you and you thought it was because she was genuinely in love with you but there was no emotion behind it for a long time. When she had sex with you and you felt you were connecting and with the one you loved it was nothing more than an act while she worked the courage up to tell you she wanted to leave. When she talked to her friends she has been telling them she isnt in love with you for a long time. They all knew and felt pity for you for a long time...Everyone knew but you for a long time. You were the last to find out...

My intent isnt to hurt you with these comments...Its to hopefully wake you up to the fact that this person isnt worth your heart ache and time. Its not a comfortable reality but it IS reality. I went through this exact thing so I have compassion and empathy for you. I know how it feels and it sucks. Im simply trying to convince you to do the best thing for you and the rest of your life - which is to walk away for good.

Go complete NC. I can tell you that you will be amazed at how quickly you can forget.

For best results, you have to train your mind a bit. When a thought about her/the relationship comes, you have to force yourself to just let the thought go. Don't dwell on the thought, don't ruminate on it, just let it come and go. You can't prevent the thoughts from coming, but you can train yourself not to latch on to them.

If you go NC, don't social media her, don't look at pics, and control your thinking, your brain will get the memo.

Also, don't fall into the trap of thinking her perception of you is a reflection of reality. If she thought she could "do better", it's just someone she percieves as "better". I can tell you right now, some people from my past have a weird as **** perception of me.

"First love" is usually a recipe for a breakup. One or both of the people eventually wonder what other "love" there is out there. A breakup happens and 90% of the time, one of the people tries to come back after a while.

Beware of the monkeybranching she will do in the near future when she doesn't have an attention source of feels guilty about something.

OP it really does suck but you almost everyone with dating experience has felt this before. It's basically a passage in life and it really really sucks.

The fact that you told her you will never find someone better and also that you actually considered wishing her happy birthday are the reasons she left you...you are weak, she knows it too.

Trust me and the misc, it will get better, not overnight, but it will. I was in the same position as you (gf of 3 years left me for another dude) but I was younger than you. Totally destroyed for months, but when it passes, you're gonna be a much better person. Ex texts me now and stuff, saying she realized what she lost etc, the same will happen with that hoe, destroy her then just like she destroyed u now.

I have had this same experience except I was in your gf shoes. First love/gf talked trash...turned out I found someone way better after just a few months, but shes married to someone now. Life goes on buddy get over it, you're pretty young if you were her first.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the advice.

This is tough but there’s a light to the end of the tunnel.

She wanted to sit through a whole dinner for selfish reasons to prob tell me everything that’s wrong with me and prob get closure for herself but I was having none of it. Walked her to her block we hugged she said I love you and we went our separate ways. 100 percent going NC but I have to pick my **** up tomm from the apt so I’m gonna see her then and then NC forever.

Thanks again

I had a nasty break up and we got back together. My advice, from my life experience, is literally go NC and move on with your life. Things will never be the same even if you get back together. The respect is gone and "injury" has been introduced into the relationship. The injury can be resolved but the respect will never come back.....You cant hear "I love you but Im not in love with you" from a person and have the relationship go back to what it was before. Listen to me - IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AND ITS OVER. You will never be able to fully come to terms with the fact that a women that claimed to "love" you was willing to break your heart and leave to find something better.

You will be tempted to get back together when she comes back - and she WILL come back. I would highly advise to move on because you are nothing more than a crutch when she returns. You will always be a second choice she settled on....She was willing to blow up your relationship and walk away because she felts something else better was out there. Do you really want to be tied to a person that views you as second best for the rest of your days? Do you really want her back after she goes and has her "wild" experiences. She will be damaged goods when she comes back and she will NOT be the same person you've fallen in love with and spent three years with. The person you love is GONE....

Move on - There are simply to many fish in the sea. Please take it from someone who has been there and done that. That is my advice from years of life experience. It wont be different for you even if you feel your relationship is vastly different than others.
This is one of the realest thing I’ve seen on here a while ago. I made a decision years ago that I will never take an ex back if they do come back for these exact reasons. How can I take someone back that decided her life was better without me in it. To that I hope it is, because I’ll make sure I feel the same way.

Gotta make sure I cater to my ego nomsayin?

Went NC, and thank god I was only with her for 3 months cause it could've been worse. Don't even think about her at all anymore and we broke up end of October of this year.

Learned a lot though, they be crazy brah. Cant imagine 3 years but NC and move the fuk on

Sorry to read what you are going through, brah.

Please, remember you're not in this experience, countless people throughout history have grieved the loss of a relationship, and they've come out of the other side.

Like others here have said, please do not let her manipulate you into keeping the flames of your love for her burning, so you can be her back up plan.

Every now and then you might get texts that say...

"Hey, just wanted to see how you are?"

"Hey, I was just thinking about the time we did X"

I would strongly advise you to ignore messages like that.

If she didn't say the quoted, it might just be a common issue of her struggling to let go of her feelings. However, based on what she wrote, I would think that it's manipulation.

You can find a woman who doesn't treat like you that.

Atleast it was only three and a half years you invested. It can happen to anyone, no matter how tight you think your relationship is. At the start of this year I had a 7 year relationship end that I or anyone ever thought would. We were completely in love with each other for so long I just never even considered it coming to an end.
Technically I ended it but it's because I found out one night by accident through her mom she was lying about being out somewhere. This was after a month of growing distance over some issues we were having. She cried and begged me not to leave her but I wouldn't hear it and I blocked her because I knew if she was dishonest once she'd continue to be. Two months later she was in another relationship and it was like a dagger to my heart. I guess in the back of my mind I thought we'd still end up back together.

But anyway I don't know why I typed all that, guess it helps to vent, but just know she wasn't the one you were meant to be with and your true soulmate is still around the corner. Don't think of it as time wasted but a valuable learning experience for your next relationship. Just stay strong brah and if you need to talk PM me.

Thanks brotha I appreciate it

Also, she owned you. Don't be easy OP. Better to be a bit of an azzhole than a bit of a pussy. Being an azzhole still gets them wet. Pussy does not.
