The AHA defines the daily sugar allowance as sugar being added to food. Fruit does not count. It's like comparing coca cola made with real coca leaves, and the pure, refined form of coca.

My question is: If someone is addicted to sugar, and has a problem with quitting and wishes to abstain completely, then is eating fruit going to trigger cravings? On one hand, it's obviously not the same as the refined form. On the other hand, it's just a weaker version.
you are clueless

cola (the drink) used to have ******* in it hence the name coca cola ,, they no longer put ******* in it but kept the name.
so your comparison is **** its like fruits having vitamins and now been replaced with something totally different thats worse for you lol

2nd of all

yes fruit today is bigger.. juicier,,,, but its worse for you than before as it has more of the bad and less of the good.

i dont see anything good about eating fruits aside from that they taste good

also i think as i mentioned before optimal would be 5 days only meat - 1 -2 days fruits/veggies , i dont think eating fruit and salads every day is a good thing

fruits in nature were very small, bitter, and only available seasonally if at all. they served the purpose of helping us fatten up around harvest time (fall) so we could more likely survive the winter.

if you're trying carnivore, I'd recommend at least 3 months completely strict. zero fruits, zero veggies, just lots of fatty meat. after 3 months, you can experiment with adding veggies back in. I did a full year carnivore strict, but after the year ended, I started having veggies occasionally just because I do enjoy them sometimes. other than having slightly heftier shts the next day, they don't affect me negatively. but I do believe veggies are unnecessary, except in the context of a standard sht diet, in which case they can help push all the toxins through the body faster. all the nutrition we need to survive is in fatty meat. just make sure you prioritize fat. don't need as much protein as we've been taught to believe.
what kinda gains/body composition have u experienced if any ?

3 months is along time did you lose alot of fat or looked the same ?

you must be new here

just one example = the more sugar you have the less vit C absorption you will be able to get so eating some of these fruits that have vitamins are basically useless if you cant absorb them when both sugar and vit c compete for the receptor , same goes for many other vitamins inside fruits

you will get more vit c from liver, fish roe and eggs than oranges

Goes without same, everything in moderation. Except maybe if you have diabetes, most things that are mostly sugar regardless are going to raise your blood sugar levels.

Fruits are only bad if you consume too much of it, like most foods. My dad has high potassium levels in his blood so his doctor told him to not eat any bananas, or to severely limit them. Eating bananas in this context wouldn't be very healthy.

I don't personally eat a lot of fruits, not that I don't like them, I just prefer other foods more. I eat a lot of veggies if anything. But fruits have all sorts of vitamins and antioxidents. They are also better than just straight up added sugars from juices because fruit juices don't really contain fiber. Fiber is key for keeping your blood-sugar levels in check and it helps dampen sharp rises in it.

Just don't eat like 20 apples and bananas a day and you should be aight. Not that most people could anyways.

completely wrong about antioxidents, vitamins, and fiber.

humans dont need fiber. there are no vitamins in fruit and there are no antioxidents in fruit.

Ignoring the rest of this thread (eat fruit and vege, dummies).

“Goes without same”.

The phrase is “goes without saying”, as in this is so obvious that it does not require someone pointing it out or saying it.

Eg; It goes without saying that eating only meat is objectively bad.

I'm not saying we didn't or shouldn't eat fruits and non-meats, just saying man is designed to eat meat and lots of it. As we evolved, our digestive track got smaller as our brains capable of more complex thought (and using more energy). We're not that closely related to any monkey, we're apes anyway.
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

I never said that meat wasn't healthy or critical to human evolution. Go ahead and eat a chit ton of meat. I do. All I'm saying is that eating fruits and vegetables are also good ideas.

However, if you're not keto or carnivore or something, fruit isn't going to kill you, it's more about CONTEXT, like anything.

Fructose IS bad, it's really, really bad. Terrible: and I will explain why.

Glucose can be used by every-single-cell in your body as energy. When you take in glucose, it's shuttled around your body and spread around, about 80% of it goes throughout your body. The remaining small 20% is processed in your liver, converted into glycogen, stored in the liver as energy, shuttled around your body to use as immediate energy or also stored in your muscle. If there is an excess, meaning you don't need the energy and your liver and muscles are already full-up -- it's stored as fat.

With glucose, this is also about context as well. Glucose that comes with a fiber-rich meal or complex carbohydrates, which are just a string of glucose molecules, it's going to slow the process down, give your body more time to process the energy, meaning there is more time to use up energy and more time for your liver to process things. More time is generally a good thing.

Sucrose, table sugar, is one molecule of glucose and one molecule of fructose.

High fructose corn syrup is just fructose.

So, when you eat like an apple -- there is whatever grams of pure fructose (bad!) BUT... it's not many grams of it, fruit tends to have fiber which slows the process down, fruit also has nutrients and other benefits, and you're fine.

However, drink that HFCS coke with the same amount of fructose as 12 apples, no fiber, no nutrients, with a meal of a greasy burger and fries? THAT chit is bad news. Massive insulin spike, too fuking many calories at once, way too much fructose for your liver to handle at once, almost no fiber to slow the process down, the non-fructose carbs are chit and a ton of calories all at once.

So, don't freak out over fruit. Moderate it, sure. Those vegan morons with banana diets can get bent, but for a normal person with a normal diet, nothing to worry about.
wish i could rep you

Cmon guys no one any of us knows has gotten ill/ injured from eating fruit (except peopel with PREEXISTING condiions that were not even triggered by fruit consumption)
Not one study has ever demonstrated that fruit is "bad"
No fat person Ive ever seen has said "I cant lose weight cuz I eat too many apples"
Eat your fruits
Case Closed.

this was my exact conflict i also think fruits dont wanna kill you because they need you but at same time they trick you into wanting them over another fruit..or other food in general, since you can only eat so much . if there are 100 different types of fruits the one that tastes the best = gets eaten the most = gets pooped out the most and spreads fruit life , we can also assume they will want you to eat them over meat and other foods since you can only eat so much food ,
so it might not be just about keeping you healthy for longevity to keep you spreading but it also could be tricking you into thinking its better than another fruit/food by makin it taste better but not actually be that good for you, am i making sense?

also fruit is good for you like i said bears eat a **** lot of berries so they can gain fat before winter.. i think fruit had a role in human history like eat as much as you can so you gain fat to survive the winter just like bears. but these days i just dont see fruit having much benefit if any at all. I believe research has shown that fructose is bad for you in absurdly high amounts. So high you would have to go out of your way to ingest such an amount. Of course if you are diabetic or have some medical issue where eating fruit could be an issue, then do not eat fruit. Only my opinion, not a doctor or researcher.

fruits are simple sugars, except with a relatively high composition of nutrients and vitamins

however, almost every vitamin and mineral contained within fruit you can obtain through either vegetables, grains or meat without the associated high insulin spike.

you shouldn't feel bad about eating them and theyre a much healthier choice than other 'sweet' food. but they aren't necessary.

i mainly eat fruit only after a workout where an insulin spike is desirable.

some fruits like berries, watermelon, to name a couple i do eat at random times

humans dont need fiber. there are no vitamins in fruit and there are no antioxidents in fruit.
maybe not the fruit which you eat.
