Vehicle went into a fail safe mode, to prevent either for safety of you, or to prevent catastrophic damage. Vehicle had a lot of modules (computers) and tons of circuits, other electronics, things are going to happen. Just chill. It's at the dealer, they can get to it. Be aware that most are backed up and there are parts shortages, so might take a bit longer.

So you’re saying act like a beta cuk and sit there and wait for them to tell me what I should do next? (Not Srs but I said it before anyone else)

This is also making sense.

They had me do some kind of a override deal with the key fob and try to put it into neutral (it’s got push button for changing from park to neutral to reverse drive etc) and it wouldn’t go into neutral either.

-Find Lincoln's customer service line
-Raise hell and ask for the regional managers name and phone number
-Provide full details to regional manager
-He/She will light a fire under the dealers ass to get it done quickly
-Tell regional manager you will go to local news and contact Lincoln corporate with failed engine reports
-Tell them you want a new car, not a new engine at 1,000 miles as it will deprecate the value by replacing the engine.
-Go on Lincoln's social media (every one of them) and post your story and which dealer it is

You will have a new car in less than a month.
Eh I did this and with ford it doesn't work. They're chit tier at support, even for $40k+ vehicles.

HAD a 2018 mustang gt that had internal cylinder scratches and the bbq tick at 2k rpms straight of the factory floor. It was an amazing car otherwise, but it got traded in...at chevy.

There’s almost no chance you’re getting your money back or a new car. If it needs an engine either way, they aren’t going to put one in and have to take a huge loss selling it to someone else and putting you in a brand new one. They’d replace the engine at least twice before they gave you a new one

In for update from OP. You'll be taken care of brah, this was likely a freak thing. No warning lights, no erratic temps, no nothing, and the engine locked up. There was a catastrophic failure that the dealer will remedy, just have some patience. Don't think for a second that a brand new vehicle will not have a problem right away no matter what. That's just silly thinking. Freak things happen. It's a massive machine with 100's of different systems working under extreme conditions. Sometimes chit happens.

You probably abused the chit out of that car. I have an 08 rx400h with 170k and it's still drives decently. My AC is out and needed to replace a couple of things but it's 180k.

I get it but fuk yes this is what’s exactly happened. I’m getting myself into a GLE 350 once I get this chit taken care of.

Finally heard back from the dealership. Cliffs: needs a new fuking engine. Yep!!

They couldn't find nothing wrong anywhere except that the engine was stalled/stuck. So after trying the starter and manually turning the engine and failing they scoped the engine. 5th cylinder somehow failed/broke and the piston/rod had smashed all the way into the spark plug apparently. They tested the oil for metal shavings and didn’t find any. They don’t know why this happened. So need a new engine. Minimum 2 weeks - max who knows. Even they don't know.

I'm traveling currently so ain't dealing with this chit. Will visit the dealership next week and get into a loaner that atleast equivalent or better than my aviator (ITS NOT A NAVIAGATOR) and try to get them to take this POS back from me

Only reason I didn’t go with a GLE 350 was cuz my current ML350 is on its third leak and it’s at 130k miles. First leak was at 85k miles. But Now planning on getting a GLE 350 moment I can rid of this aviator.

I like the aviator but my chik is not digging it atall. After this freak fail, I’m ready to rid of it too. The technology in the aviator is not atall reliable/natural in terms of lane assist and adaptive cruise. If the vehicle slows down from faster speeds and then goes back to faster speeds, it accelerates too fuking fast and lane assist hangs to the left of the lane instead of center. I’ve drove the palisade and that car’s lane assist and cruise is soooooo much better and reliable than the aviator. But the luxury in aviator is another level. Yep it’s grandpa level but I like it

Dude. I just sold my 2014 sonata with 271k miles

My 2015 ml350 is at 131k miles

First owner of both vehicles. You should check facts before opening that mouth bro and making such assumptions and chit.

I’d give the aviator a chance. No way two engines should be bad..at least get the gle 450 or up. Lmao at spending 65k+ and getting a 270hp 7+ second 0-60 that can get dusted by a Toyota Sienna minivan.

Damn bro, that's sum bad nooz. That is a freak thing though and at least the dealer is going to have to eat the cost, not you. I wonder how many other pour souls had to go through this like you did. Might trigger a massive recall honestly. All the best to you brah, hopefully your next ride will be more reliable.

Cliffs: Lincoln seems like they’ll buy the aviator back and I’ll be able get myself into a GLE.

So after a bunch of runaround and dealing with service manager, finally got a hold of the general manager. Had to go to the dealership to get a hold of him.

On the phone, the service guy and service manager both said “Lincoln should step in”

And so did the general manager. Wohoo! I kept pushing that I don’t just trust that vehicle anymore and beats the point of a brand new car which is unreliable. He said he doesn’t see why Lincoln wouldn’t buy it back. He’ll start the process Monday cuz apparently no one works at Lincoln on Fridays (what bull****).

Damn. Took a while but heard back from the Lincoln dealership today.

The manufacturer has approved the buy back and I’m supposed to hear from the manufacturer in the morning about the buy back and how it’ll work. I’m glad they’re buying it back and refunding me 100% plus taxes that I paid.

issue now is I’ll be without a car since I sold one of my vehicles. I have reserved a vehicle but it’s not even in production yet. Delivery expected mid to late November.

think they’ll let me keep the loaner till then? Slim chances but I’ll try…any words I should be using the convince them to let me keep the loaner till I get my new vehicle?

It’s at the dealership. They had to tow it. They think the engine locked up.

Was driving it. Stopped behind a school bus. Car said to put transmission in park. So put it in park.

And that was the end of it. Wouldn’t crank or get out of park into neutral or any other gear.

Called dealership. Got it towed there. Rear wheels were locked as the tow truck pulled cuz he couldn’t get it to neutral either after being on call with dealership for 15 minutes.

5 days later they still don’t know wtf is going on. They think maybe genuine is seized but they also day they don’t know what’s going on with it and that they haven’t looked at it cuz they can’t tow it.

Whatever man. Gimme my money back imo.

What do? What’s my options? I do not want this one back!!
i cant remember what it says exactly in the contract and each state is different i think, but usually you have to give them a reasonable amount of time to fix it. like 30 days or something. or could try and lemon law it.

your situation if this is true is extremely rare
