Try recurrent C Diff. Have had it for 4 years, even cancer patients that have had both say its worse than cancer lmao.

So yeah I'm scared of death since its around the corner if I can't stop it.

But when I was healthy nah, never thought about it.

I remember when I had anesthesia I was counting down and then closed my eyes and the next second I woke up but it was hours later. That void in between is death, everything simply ceases to exist.

You only get one life so enjoy while it lasts.

No. I watched a sibling and my dad both die of cancer, at home. Both seemed to be ready when the time came. It's nothing to be afraid of, but I would feel sorry that my family would mourn for me. That's the worst part.

I wasn't scared until I had a kid. He'll be 2 this year and now we've got another on the way, and I'm terrified at the thought of them having to grow up without me.
And relief washes over me in an awesome wave

Not looking forward to the dying part.

Watched my dad die slowly of cancer and my grandad of old age and various illnesses until one finally killed him.

Hopefully assisted dying is a thing due to over population when my time comes.

If you live life like you have nothing to lose you'll fear it less but if you care about existing its not possible to not fear it at all cuz you have no guarantee you gonna exist again in another life.

I am covered for being buried/cremated. My father passed while going through alzheimer's for a couple years. I would not want to go out like that. Doctors did surgery on him that profited them $$$$$ to keep him alive like that for another month. It's time, already dead, just let it go.

My eldest sister passed away fast/unexpextedly. No insurance to cover burial. My niece insisted on an expensive burial, paid for none of it. LOVE my niece, but this really caused problems. Bury me as cheap as possible, but I am already covered to be buried in a casket. The only thing that scares me about death is what I leave behind that still has to go on living.

I definitely don't want to die before my time, I fear not getting to experience another handful of decades of stuff. But I don't fear death in concept

Mostly just hope I make it to the point where I've lived and seen enough that I'm fully at peace with checking out

If I could sleep and never wake up that wouldn't bother me too much. But i would feel devastated for my parents.

The idea of being alive one moment and gone the next fascinates me.

I often wonder if it's just like that moment before you fall asleep, and just never resurface.

I am spiritual so I believe there is something after our time ends, but I don't know what.

It's one of life's few guarantees. I don't fear death but I do fear living in misery. I do fear going through the process of death being horrible but not the final death.

Worse case scenario is that I picked the wrong religion and now I'm going to be tortured for eternity but I doubt that.
There could the scientific death were you just cease to exist, it become like before you were born, but then I don't care if I don't exist.
I'm pretty sure there is something after death, a spiritual thing, but religion really doesn't cover it.

A lot of people fear death because it's a big unknown, but then I think a lot of people fear death because they are dipchit terrible people and despite how they may be able to cover themsleves to look another way, they are afraid to answer for it.

I feared it until I had the most vivid dream in which I died and since then I've not feared it.
Never had a dream before or after it, and it felt like no other dream. I felt my consciousness leave my body and slowly dilute into spacetime, spreading through the universe until no thoughts remained. It felt exactly how it will feel when the time comes

I've got several perspectives on this. I thought long and hard about death and had an intense psychedelic experience which resulted in complete and utter Ego death; to the point I could not literally identify with any one or anything. I was as much that tree over there, or that river, as much was I was my own head. I recommend such an experience, even though you must be cautious and sensible. Ego death is a very terrifying thing since you can literally feel yourself "going away", the very sense of self or "I" just evaporates into nothingness and dissolves to simple there-ness, being there; which is co-incident with the entire universe itself. I consider Ego-death to be an experiential answer to what its like to die, without actually dying. Or to get even more philosophical, it's a means of "Existential Exit" which is unspeakably sublime and beautiful.

Secondly, I recommend reading a book called the Ever Present Origin by Jean Gebser;it's an anthropological study of the evolution of consciousness. Our mental mode of consciousness is the most rich in dimension but comes at the cost of further remove from origin, it is dichotomous. Ancient cultures had a different structure of consciousness without a subject-object dichotomy, and his insights into their ideas of life and death are mind-blowing, they're not opposed concepts like we have, but mutually co-implying in a dream-like consciousness.
