Reality is, if someone offered you $50k a year, your ass would water at the thought. Question is, do you have the skills to make even that? Imagine pretending that you wouldn't go to an office for 4 hours to make $1500 dollars in said 4 hours.

You'll learn after a while of being retired that money just doesn't motivate after a while. I own 100% of my time...100% of my earthly rotations and trips around the sun. You can't buy that from me.

I think most people are the types that struggle without being told what to do. I'm sorta allergic to being told what to do...perhaps a fault on my part, but it is what it is.

That makes no sense. Everyone owns 100% of their time. If they choose to work, that's what they chose to do with their time. If they choose to mooch off the government and cope about being "retired", that's what they chose to do with their time.

And I recon if they get upset and complain online with hundreds of replies to a dude saying being retired beats working...they (you) can spend their time doing that too.

If you're spending 100% of your time doing what you want to do (including hanging on my every word) then yes, you are essentially "retired" and coasting with complete ownership of your time. Now I have an egg sandwich to make.

What’s the point of “owning all of your time” if you’re too poor to enjoy it? You’re not an enlightened monk meditating and achieving a higher level of self understanding, you’re not enriching your own life by not doing anything all day, you’re not even able to provide for your own daughter based on the responses from other miscers. First you need to tell us how much money is needed to enjoy one's time. Need a dollar figure. Also, how much of one's life is worth trading away for that dollar figure in your opinion?

How do you know I haven't become enlightened and achieved a higher level of understanding? I feel way more intelligent than I ever have...I'm a voracious reader and thinker.

If you're listening to disgruntled miscers that truth be known hate going to work then of course you'll have a tainted view of me. But you must think to yourself...what would cause these "successful" miscers to follow someone around like puppy dogs? It's that truth speak.

I never understood owning a huge house for this exact reason. Having a huge house means you will want to fill it with stuff, and a lot of it will probably be things that are largely money wasters you won't use all that much. I've seen a few people basically turn themselves house poor over it, and they end up moaning about how much work it all is and how they will enjoy the day they sell it.

I enjoy my job infinitely more than I would enjoy your lifestyle. I have lived your lifestyle, budgeting is not fun. Being so bored that you're taking 12am neighborhood walks is not fun. McDonald's as an indulgence is not fun. It's great if you like living that way, but most people call that being poor. Most third worlders live exactly as you do.
