Rarely lock my house and frequently leave my garage door open with hundreds of dollars worth of tools inside.
No worries.

I live on a couple acres in the country. People have things stolen occasionally, but it's pretty rare and not something I worry about.

brb got so much booze in there…….so much
All my paintings too. My art studio, my jam space, my gym, etc. I guess a home invader would therefore be able to get a stiff buzz on and appreciate local art while getting a cum-inducing pump and perhaps turn their life around.

All my cars are inside.
I've had one home invasion and no break ins.
I'm still not big on locking my doors. 300#'s of mean dogs, 16 camera's and a 12g and I don't have any fear.
The home invasion was 20 years ago. 3 Mexicans doing stucco watched my parents leave with their RV on a Friday while they ate lunch. They came back at 8pm in the back door. I came at them with a mean dog and a bad attitude and they jumped off the deck in the dark. Real crooks with guns would have been a problem.

For the past 10 years i've always lived in apartments because of the safety
if someone wants to break into my suite, they would have to get through security at my apartment as well as the locked doors. My apartment is also high up so they wouldn't be able to climb up my windows like Spider Man
I can't imagine how it would be like living in a house say right next to a bus stop where people could break in any time they wanted to
if someone got your address for your home and wanted to rob you they could easily do that. But at an apartment? Good luck getting inside

This is not a thought that ever crosses my mind, ya’ll wildin. I don’t even spend money on cameras, never had a security system.

I don't live near people who are likely to try and break in.
I have gates.
The driveway is over 1/4 mile long.
Cameras.
Lights.
Alarms
Antibandit glass.
Most importantly, we don't have anything in the house that makes it worth the effort.
Burglars wouldn't just try my house by chance; they would have to plan it in advance. With no watches, expensive jewelry, expensive art etc the juice isn't worth the squeeze.
Most break-ins are done by smashing a window and grabbing whatever they can, to pawn for drug money etc. The more high end, targeted stuff only happens when they are after a specific car, piece of art, watch etc.

Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster……

If you are smart, it's much easier to secure a home than an apartment building. Or at least prepare the home so you can catch any would-be criminals much earlier/before the fact.
Sure you might have less people around, but that means anyone around sticks out more and is thus easier to deal with. It also means you know every inch of the property and can defend it that much better, vs being cornered into your apartment.
I currently live in a townhome in a fairly walkable and busy part of the city, which means at any time of day there is a homeless dude walking nearby, or neighbors walking their dogs, or delivery drivers walking past, uber drivers stopping outside, schoolkids walking to/from school, tourists walking to/from the coffee shops, etc. Infinitely more avenues of theft/crime than when I lived in a mcmansion in the boonies where you couldn't see the neighboring houses due to the gardens, and couldn't even see the house from the street due to the elevation change/driveway design.
most criminals are opportunistic. Generally a B&E is not an opportunistic crime. That's why criminals cut off catalytic converters and steal vehicle wheels more than they break into someone's home.
that said I don't understand you peeps who feel so safe they don't lock their doors. that chit drives me nuts, I lock everything.

Cameras and guns. Add a dog and that's about all you really need. Unless you are some huge drug lord, random burglars aren't going to try that hard.
