Lmao what have I claimed to experience? All I've done is list the withdrawals, maybe the odd flash of change but I've been very honest that I'm early in the process and it's only really had negative effects so far

Not sure if troll or dumb

Yeah brah full recovery usually takes 6 months to a year. Even subtle changes probably not gonna be felt till 2-3 months in at least

Depends on when they started but 39 days is pretty early for any addiction. If they got addicted during their early teens like me it will definitely take longer, adolescent brains are more vulnerable to addiction and the neural pathways will be way deeper.

Explains a lot now I know you base your arguments on info from 'established posters' lmao

How on earth do you go a whole month with not having sex with the person you are seeing? I can't even go a day.

Day 40 - It’s been another grey day, feeling quite empty but I'm proud to reach 40 days, quite a milestone. Nearing the half-way point of the 90 day reboot. My expectation is that I won’t really start to truly heal and feel the benefits until after the 90 day mark, though of course I'm hoping it may start earlier.

Definitely dealing with doubts about whether this is actually going to help. Even though I intellectually understand that I was addicted (fulfilled all the 4Cs) and that my brain will heal, it is hard to emotionally believe it. It’s not as if feelings/urges come with a label saying ‘this is a withdrawal symptom’. Very hard to know for sure. But Ochom’s razor would state that I’ve removed an addiction and so I’m going through withdrawals. My self esteem has definitely dipped over the last couple of weeks. Looking at the cold hard facts of my life it is quite easy to paint a picture that is hurtful. Yet I’m not getting any push to go out and fix it yet, my energy and motivation levels are still very low. My instinct right now is to hide away, almost treating myself as if I’m sick. Some benefit to this I suppose but I do need to challenge it.

Had an interesting thought today. Realised that I never really felt socially anxious during job interviews or first dates. During events like these I was always confident and charming, showing really strong social skills. My anxiety was mainly based on mundane conversations, obviously with co-workers and strangers but even with friends and family members. Based on all the research I’ve been doing about pmo addiction’s impact on dopamine levels I think I’ve figured out why.

PMO addiction leads to desensitisation (brain produces less dopamine and reduces dopamine receptors, meaning you’re less sensitive to dopamine). Socialising in day-to-day context does not produce enough dopamine to register for me, I am not sensitive enough, leading to lack of interest, withdrawal, and anxiety. But situations like job interview or first dates, which are inherently far more stimulating, lead to producing more dopamine that does register for my brain. This leads to feeling more comfort, more confidence and no anxiety.

The typical person with social anxiety would experience heightened anxiety during these moments because it is a heightened social experience. The fact that I didn’t leads me to strongly believe that my issue is based on a lack of dopamine rather than anything psychological or pre-existing. This makes me hopeful that it will reverse.

But more time is needed. Into the forties now

That means you have healthy reproductive organs. Find a gf while you still have them. We didn’t have internet when I was growing up. We had jc penny catalogs. I have a healthy sex drive for my age but I wish I could find a way to get it like it was when I was 15. It can get you in trouble as you get older though. Women play games now and they all want money or to get you fired. Girl on my ******** who has been cleaning houses but will suck you off or whatever had a bad day and put everyone’s names thst she had serviced online including married men. Can’t imagine that. Just try to use your sexual energy in the gym or with studies or something.

Brah I felt like chit before quitting and have done for years, why do you think I'm trying to quit? Gonna feel worse before it gets better when kicking any addiction. Good thing is I'm prepared for it so it doesn't phase me

Not quite sure I understand your message overall bro but you're definitely right about needing to channel sexual energy. Have done the gym a bit during this reboot but motivation has been lacking. Will get back on it definitely

Willpower is the ability to delay gratification in pursuit of a higher goal. It's activated and controlled by the prefrontal cortex. Addiction leads to something called hypofrontality, meaning the prefrontal cortex gets weaker and even shrinks - this is one of the reasons why addicts find it so hard to quit. Recovering from addiction allows the prefrontal cortex to heal and return to normal.

It can also be treated like a muscle, that is the more you employ willpower the easier you'll find it to employ willpower in the future. So when our friend here posted he gave me the opportunity to resist meaning my ability to resist is even stronger now

Thread title is no fap

Day 38 - Felt okay today, nothing too major to report. To be fully honest though, i did masturbate for a two to three minutes last night. It’s not the first time, I’ve probably done this five times or so over this reboot. Not edging, obviously not doing it to anything, but I thought about it today and need to address it.

Ah I see, yeah that was a slip and have addressed it now. As I explained I left it in a grey area and thought it was probably harmless, maybe even helped me rewire masturbation from pron. But after researching it decided that it was slowing down by reboot and have cut it out completely now. All part of the recovery process

Glad to see you read my posts so closely. I think you're the only one on this forum who's actually reading what I've written haha, it's nice to have a loyal reader
