They're new and more exciting but I feel confident we'll slay them.

I dk about slay, they played a close game against the Pats yesterday. Then again, they always seem to do that against the Pats. Should definitely be a win though. I'm confident the defense will shut down Spiller and Jackson. The defense also contained Wilson in the pocket pretty good yesterday as well. So they should be able to do the same to Manuel.

If we can apply the kind of pressure to Manuel as we did to Russel I think we will force a few turnovers. Wilson remained poised at pretty much all times (not surprised about that) and I don't think the rookie will handle it as well.

Hopefully they let Cam air it out a little more against their defense.

Eagles tonight have been really fun to watch. Have to wonder if Vick and McCoy will hold up 16 games with that workload but hey, enjoy it while it lasts.

If we can shut down spiller(dont see why we cant considering how hard we shut down lynch) then we should be able to eat them up. A rookie that is under as much pressure as wilson will fold. Wilson is of a different breed and thats the only reason he was able to hang in there. I'm expecting some big time sacks, maybe forced fumbles and some terribly thrown interceptions. Also like 50% of EJ manuels throws/ yards were too runningbacks and i think our linebacking core is good enough to stop that

If you're still around, got a cliff'd version of your analysis? I know you were huge on Star before the draft so I was kinda hoping you'd poke your head in here.

I think people are sleeping on how well cam played because of the lack of points. Totally reasonable argument, can't blame them, but he was as accurate, calm, poised as I've seen him. Ever. He is going to do big things this year.

Judging by how we play to the level of our opponent, I'm hoping that we squeak by Buffalo. Not because Buffalo is a huge threat, but because they are also coming off of a game where they took out a lot of positives. I don't think New England is as good as they are in previous years, but mentally, the Bills will be very confident. Not to mention Buffalo is a pretty tough place to play. Stevie Johnson can take any of our corners. Their running backs are legit.

I'm just worried about the homerun threat. As Panther fans, you can all probably agree we give up a ton of flukey and non flukey big plays(Think Russell's 40 yard TD throw Sunday, that blind heave that got the first down in the 2nd half that made you go WTF cmon. Think Carolina @ Atlanta last year where Captain got owned by I think Julio Jones)

They have their threats. Those kind of threats hurt when we can't capitalize on offense. No matter what team you're playing, its hard to shut a team out or keep them from scoring minimum points when we can't finish drives.

I have no problem thinking that the Bills won't do much offensively, but will the Panthers? We looked good on offense against a tough defense. However, we never finished drives. I think we will look better offensively…I just hope it's much better. We can't afford another game where we fail to capitalize on offense. Our defense is going to be nasty even if our secondary is subpar. However, without a 2nd WR, we're not going to spread out defenses. DeAngelo is a decent back, and I'm still not sold on Tolbert. Smith is a great WR, but he's lost one step(He's not the threat to take it to the house every play, but he will still bulldoze people), Olsen is a fantastic TE and those drops were flukes. However, outside of that, we have nothing.

If Lafell can step up this year and hopefully breakout, it would make our offense scary.

The one thing I love about the offense is that Cam looks super super calm.

Lafell is fine. The offense will score more than 7 points next week. We were playing a top 3 defense Sunday(even with them missing some players) and I'm almost positive we would have scored the go ahead touchdown had Williams not fumbled. Olsen also had a huge drop that would have put us in field goal range. My only concern is not converting the 3rd and short plays. Especially 3rd and 1. Shula is gonna have to get a little more creative with that. You can't just run Deangelo up the middle, teams see that coming. I'd let Cam run it out of shotgun every time. He always seems to find a hole and he's so big, just falling forward picks up the first down. I think there were two occasions Sunday where it was 3rd and 1 and we didn't get either one of them. That's gotta change.

I'm confident in us beating the Bills though. I believe this defense will be #1 in rush defense at the end of the year. The front 7 shut down a top 3-5 back, I believe they will be able to shut down anyone. Manuel will have to beat us throwing the ball.

I still don't think Marshawn is a top 5 back. Last season was the first season he's put up outstanding numbers. Hes had plenty of thousand yard seasons, but I'll never believe he's great until he can put up back to back seasons averaging over 4.5/carry. I still think he's only high on peoples minds after last season(Which I'm not taking away..he had a SUPER year last year) + that beastmode run against the Saints. Other than that, he's a 4 yard per carry back who just happens to have a high amount of carries(Look at career stats…not that impressive really). Maybe that will change because hes on a team with more weapons? Idk. I'm just looking at his production.

If he's a top 5 back, then its because there aren't that many great RBs in the league anymore..which there arent. Just a bunch of young guys who can be.

Spiller and Jackson can be just as threatening as Marshawn. Not saying they are as consistently good, but there is no way we should underestimate that running combo. Spiller got 1200 yards on 200 carries last season with no quarterback. I still think we'll stop them though.

I think it all boils down to EJ Manuel staying as calm as Wilson under pressure. His rookie status + Last game production(Not the best) shows that he will be rattled, but we rattled Wilson 70% of that game last weekend. Every play where he wasn't rushed(And even some where he was), it was a complete pass. I doubt Manuel will be as effective, but we are still terrible in coverage. Mikell was the only person I recall batting a ball away.

They gave up 158 rushing yards though, which highly favors Carolina putting up points.

Just trying to play a little devils advocate. I don't see Buffalo as a huge threat, but they still have their weapons. I love this team and there is so much potential with this squad, especially with how we really compete with Atl and New Orleans. I think the best thing to take away from Carolina's game is how our offense was efficient against one of the best defenses in the league. Seattle has a track record of not performing when they travel to the east coast. There's a chance we crush the Bills, but until we win a game in the season, I don't think its safe to say.

DWill is going to have a huge game I have a feeling. Weak run D plus he has already apologized for the fumble last week… I look forward to hopefully seeing vintage DWill carve them up. As far as that goes, coach said that he offense was too conservative so hopefully they open it up a bit more this week. I think the Bills have a train heading their way that they can't get out of the way of fast enough. I'm looking for a huge week here.

Definitely don't want to start a season 0-2 with the kind of talent and division we have so we'll be needing some players to step up today.

next years first pick is going to be a toughie. We finally took care of the interior defensive line but still have serious needs.

Corner - do I even need to explain?
WR - Again, no explanation needed. Still think Smitty is a great WR, and LaFell is fine.. but Smitty is getting old and I'd rather get his replacement earlier than later. Let him have a year to learn instead of throwing him into the #1 role. Some guys you can do that with; like an AJ Green, Julio Jones, Megatron, etc. the top 5 caliber picks.. but we won't have a top 5 pick so it's unlikely we'll get a true blue chip guy.

Outside of that I honestly think we're set.. obviously could use some improvements but none are flashing red in my eyes.

I mean really there are no excuses for anyone. Rivera, as I've said for I don't know how long, has got to go. I can't say Cam deserves zero blame because he started off so poorly but the coaches didn't give him the opportunity to put the game away late with pussy play calling.

We've got a ****ing massive QB.. Why not go for it on 4th? Ugh.

I knew the second we settled for a field goal that we lost this game. Would have bet life savings on it.

Even though I fully expected it.. Doesn't make it hurt any less. Was actually excited for the season after week one and how well the play calling, defense, etc was. Just another disappointment I suppose. Wait all year for the same bullshiit from this top-to-bottom garbage ****ing team
