I hate that the Pats get a bye before we play them but none the less we need to split these next two games to have a shot at postseason play.
But it feels good to be in control of our own destiny this late into the season. Unreal.

Yep. Playing the niners and pats after they have a bye.
Fukkin sucks.
But it'll be our toughest test of the season.

yeah next two games are really going to be unkind to us.
despite the tough as hell schedule we are coming out pretty good. but 9ers, pats, 2 saints games left is tough. Puts pressure to beat the fins, bucs, falcons, and someone I forget. No room for slip ups.

Looking so good on defense. If we come out of the stretch against 49'ers, Pats and Saint(x2) at at least 2-2, I think we are in the playoffs.

Detroit has an easier schedule, but they still have some games that they should lose. If we end up 11-5, we still might not make it. Bull**** that we are obviously better then the Cowboys, but the NFC East is garbage. We should have taken care of business against the Bills.

man i really hope we beat the forty whiners, Carolina is still getting dismissed by all the "pro analysts" and beating the team every one has a raging boner about would just be so sweet….also, so pumped for the monday night game vs new england. this is where Carolina can prove they are a playoff caliber team.
ps nice fricking draw having to play the NFC West and AFC East…why cant we get nfc east and afc south

Never left brosef.
Just feels good to actually have this going for us right now.
Andddd ffffffuuuuu. Rage at how we could have a 11-5 record and NOT make playoffs.
NFC east deserves no spot.

There, Rivera skipped an opportunity to end the game with a fourth-and-1 conversion, kicking a 39-yard field goal that put his Panthers up six. Just as they did against the Falcons the previous year, Rivera's defense then blew that lead, as EJ Manuel drove the Bills the length of the field for a game-winning touchdown. S ome time that night, Rivera snapped. Since then, the Panthers have faced fourth-and-1 six times and gone for it all six times. "
A shortened version of the outcome of those 6 attempts: 5/6 paid off big time with a first down, TD, etc. The one that didn't was a play that created a wide open LaFell who dropped the pass.

Rivera would be right to go for it in those situations regardless of the outcomes, but he has been rewarded handsomely for his decisions.

If you like Barnwell's writing, check out Gregg Easterbrook also. Both are firm believers that NFL coaches are way too quick to punt or launch field goals.

I hope we're fired up for this game.. we're facing a healthier, focused 49ers team that is essentially a mirror image of our team but they're a bit better(in the secondary, OL specifically). I think we stand a good chance because of this and I think our front 7 can wreak havoc on Kaep. The thing this game comes down to will be Cam's turnovers vs. Kaep's. Teams like SF don't piss away opportunities off turnovers.

Easterbrook in particular was chronicling a high school that never (or rarely) punted / kick field goals. And they were a very good team that did not lose often. And yeah, I understand high school and the NFL aren't even close to the same thing.
