Yup. Any impact d-line guys(besides Coples) gonna be avail this draft?
Theres a guy from Baylor who could be good…forget his name. LSU always has some big sumbitches at DT we could go after. Wynn from Boise St. could be good too

I know, its just wishful thinking on my part. Hed be a great passrusher in a 3-4 and we have the linebackers to do it(assuming we had him). Rivera has said were gonna stay 4-3, our interior is wrecked and our dbs arent looking too hot either.

Otah being healthy could be the difference between 8-8 and 3-13 IMO.

I'm really, really hoping he's not practicing for precautionary reasons.

Not a big surprise but looks like Arizona plans on bringing the heat today.

I think Smitty can exploit Peterson in coverage though, if Cam can just get him the ball…

And can we stop them? Doubtful.

Double moves on Peterson from Smith would be awesome, but Cam won't have the time to exploit it.

Defense is gonna suck

Wow, heck of a game, where to start. They brought the heat, constantly. Cam stood up in the pocket and made throws, I was impressed. Smith is back, olsen and shockey also provided to be beneficial and big targets. Cams arm looked great. Arizona blew some coverage and Cam took advantage of it. Beason went down hard and in my opinion if he blew his already injured achilies then he'll be done for the season. Overall im happy with todays game, was the best game on tv, exiting, close and filled with good plays.

Was a good game. 1 bad ST play and 1 bad playcall on defense. Offense couldn't run the ball.

Honestly if I had said that last year, I would have expected a blowout. Still think wins will be at a premium (really had schedule), but cot damn that was exciting.

Amazing game. I came into this season expecting <6 wins, so it's not surprising to see the loss. The only thing I wanted out of this season was to see Cam show flashes of potential, and he showed more in one ****ing quarter than Jimmy has in his entire career.

Also, was anyone else utterly shocked at the sight of a Carolina coach making halftime adjustments?

I'm f*cking pissed. Cam Newton comes in, debut game, throws for over 400 yards, best rookie debut ever, and the defense and special teams sh*t the bed. Gotta be f*cking kidding me.

Next week is worrisome, obviously. GB is going to score like crazy so it will be tough to try to develop the run game. I think Cam is OK throwing against them but I don't like having to rely on him against a team that good.

Yeah, not sure that's ever happened before.

I heard it's Beason's ankle, which would be a good thing.

Great game, I'm not worried about wins this year, hell, might as well lose them all and then load up by trading the Andrew Luck pick. This was the first game that's kept me interested in over a year so I'm excited about the future.

Huge this. I'll be fine with 5ish wins. We need some help on defense

I know that feel bro. I'm trying to tell myself that long term we'll be fine(and I really do think that), but I wanted that win today. We had that ****, and a boneheaded blitz followed by a boneheaded ST play later we were down.

I couldn't be happier about Cam's debut/future, but **** I hate losing. It's pretty much a guarantee we'll be 0-2 next week because if we let Arizona put up 28 GB will double that. They have a good return game as well.

edit - FUUUUUU

Breaking: I'm told by a reliable source that Jon Beason's injury is "very significant" and he will be out a lengthy period of time.

josephperson Joe Person
Doesn't sound good look good for LB Jon Beason. Ron Rivera said situation was 'dire.' But will await results of MRI on his left foot.

NOO! I mean Dan Connor is good, but holy **** this is a huge loss.

Yeah dude, f*cking damn it I wanted the win today. Screw expecting and accepting losses, especially like this. And now Beason is probably done for the year. DAMN IT! FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Pros and cons of todays game

Pros:
Cam looked like a f*cking man today. He was the real deal, and you could tell he was genuinely upset in the closing seconds. He wanted this win, he wants to win period, and I love that. He was also able to spread the ball around even though Smith had 2 TDs and 100+, Lafell, Olsen and Shockey made some great catches as well. But Cam was the player of the game, goes for both teams.

Charles Johnson and Greg Hardy. I was especially impressed with Hardy, that one play where he dived like 5 yards to try and sack Kolb, I was like wow. I feel pretty good about those 2 as our ends for years to come.

Shutting down Fitz. I was kinda torn about this one, since Fitz is on my fantasy team and he only got me like 6 points, but good job shutting him down. At the same time though, this led to other Arizona receivers getting open.

Cons:

Legedu Naanee. Guy is f*cking terrible, get him off the team now. He doesn't even try. He was trotting when Cam threw a fade in the endzone, Legedu was f*cking TROTTING to the ball. Nice effort.

Like 15 penalties

Defensive tackles getting put on roller skates, especially when Beanie scored the touchdown.

Run game wasn't up to par, probably because Arizona blitzed every play though. Could just never break one off, and when one of them did, it got called back.

Punt team, 3 guys running PAST Patrick Peterson before he even caught the ball. Instead of breaking down and defending, they run past his ass, hoping to knock the ball on the 1 or something, dumbasses. DUMBASSES.

Beason probably out for the year.

Not going for field goals while in field goal range. A real head scratcher on that one.

All in all, a very winnable game. Could have started the season off with some momentum, could have been first in NFC South, and could have already got half of the win total from last year, in the first game. Opportunity gone. Cam with a monster game and losing. I feel bad for him.

The most worrisome thing to me though, was even though Cam put up a ****ing fantastic performance, played as well as you'd expect the best QB's in the league to play, we still lost. I mean ****. I think our running game will come alive next week, but Cam is going to struggle because they'll be able to put more in coverage while putting up a better pass rush.

Just a hard loss to swallow, as this was one of the few "winnable" games on our schedule. I know any given Sunday etc, but we should have had this one.

jon beason out for the year with a torn achilles. I hope he comes back next year healthy and the same player as he was. I'm glad we didn't ship connor out.

I'm anxious to see what moves the panthers will make these next couple days considering our defense really needs some improvement.

Rivera said during press conference today that they are looking at OT and DT to fill the two open spots

I have a feeling this is a pattern you're going to see a lot out of this year's Panthers.

Try it with honeymustard, brah. Or ranch. Not ketchup.

I won't lie though predraft I was down on him too, though I think it was more about Andrew Luck pulling out than us actually getting Cam. Once we took him I accepted the fact and hoped for the best, but I never dreamed he'd have a day like he did yesterday, especially not right out of the gate. Wakeup call incoming this next weekend I'm afraid.
