But to be serious, 100K is a lot depending on location. I've lived in suburbs of cities with millions of people, such as San Antonio, and you can live comfortably with that money and kids. Without kids it would be even better. Same for Dallas, but the closer you get to the city, the more expensive, of course. So 100K won't be much for San Fransisco since I was reading about average home price being 1 million and people struggling to live there even with great incomes. On the other hand, 50k is a lot for a small town, unless it's in a great area or secluded in the mountains or something like that. Depends on spending habits too. If the person buys luxury cars, expensive clothes, expensive house, etc., then 100k won't mean much since they need more to buy those things they want.
