Robin Hood wasn't great either, something about English folklore isn't appealing, while Scottish or Scandinavian are.

king arthur will do fine internationally. now hollywood has seen the light and will further exploit china and other countries for box office success. look to see even more cringe in the future.
china has only an allotted number of movies allowed each year by government so people generally go out and watch them. i'd bet this movie does fine there while flops here.
in terms of black/asian actors, it does kind of ruin immersion for historical fantasy a bit but not as bad since hounsou is a really good actor. maybe they should have not called it king arthur and just made their own take on it. that wouldn't have hurt immersion at all since it would be its own world not based on 5th century britain
for all other posters not aware of this clown, he's a known troll that uses race and other politics as bait. now we know why main misc is dying faster than testosterone in millennial men.

It's a shame. Listened to Guy Ritchie on a podcast and really liked the dude. King Arthur movies never really bring in a lot of money that I know of, though.

Hollywood should just make a remake as accurately as they can based of the originally legend. And English king that fought the saxon invasion. This is my point... instead they throw giant fuking elephants and chit like that into it.
And then people will wonder why it flopped. ilmao.

But because people are so tired of remakes, they'd rather watch GoT, Mad Men, Walking Dead, Stranger Things etc.. All these shows that have the quality of a movie with a TV budget.. And they are all original.

It does familiarity right. I love it but it's no more original than the 13th or 14th MCU movies - I'd argue that it's less so.
Fast and the Furious 7 was, uh, interesting, but it was definitely a more creatively loose film with it's own bizarre ideas of how a filmmaker can play around with stuff onscreen, than Point Break lite Fast and the Furious 1.

I watched The Walking Dead to see an ongoing version of the thing I already like, but I don't feel that it really brought anything new to that table except a higher hour count. Civil War and Doctor Strange, for all their failings, and for their placement in the biggest (and often blandest and safest) corporate movie series on the planet, did.

Additionally, despite the obvious lack of realism in the whole thing, the legend of king arthur is based in 4th/5th century Britain.

From what I've read the audience seems to think it's okay but the critics are hating on it
As a black brah I can't remember the last time I watched a film and thought "there are too many white people in this film it needs some diversity."
The only people who get triggered by this chit are the hyper liberals and conservitards. The average person does not give a chit. srs.
Just as on the other hand the extremely cucked liberals are crying about not enough asian/black representation in film.

This, nobody gives a chit about "forced diversity" (unless it's replacing a huge character with a different race).
