Those 2 are my favourite X Men movies.

The opening and ending scenes of Days Of Future Past were mind blowing in the 3D at the cinema... But they really lost their magic when watching 2D on the small screen. Damn shame I'll probably never be able to watch them in 3D IMAX.

Never seen a western end with a hundred little kids running for the border ordnance all around but not one little bastard get even a bruise. The ending of that movie was a huge disappointment.

Some people at Blu-ray forums are defending it. Saying if you do not like it, you are an MCU fanboy or let critics change your mind. lol

It had a couple of good fight scenes, but everything in the movie had already been done before.I'm just glad its over so now Disney can make better use of the characters.
I can only think this is the number one reason....people know that going to watch this means nothing ...there’s nothing canon about this and will not have any connection to future films since Disney will reboot it

Being connected to a bigger picture is what helped movies like antman and captain marvel bring in audiences or at least a bonus to more than what would of shown up without being connected

Like trying to bring in fans to a sports team that’s about to move away.....turns people into a rooting for them into a fuk them they are leaving me attitude ...sort of same thing

Nah that's a bad comparison. Aquaman was a generic CGI spectacle.
Logan pretty much had it's own aesthetics. The camera work alone was quite amazing.

So sure go piss off your fanbase that exists to cater to one that will never exist.
There are lots of female marvel fans now. I think the root of the problem is that women will go see a movie with a male or female hero. Men clearly favor a movie with a male hero unless they look like Gal Gadot. (That said, I think the Black Widow movie is still doomed to fail.)

You also have to admit that Hollywood is pandering to the recent MeToo/we want equal billing movements, and it is requiring a lot of re-writing of the original comic book story lines. The ones written by men that appealed to men.

Look at Captain Marvel. He had a sex change and got to be orders of magnitude stronger than the original. And this one is worse. The entire Dark Phoenix storyline was a boring psychology-drama about an insecure character whose main purpose in the comic books was to give Wolverine someone to love. Dark Phoenix should never have been made, but at least they released it when there's very little competition. That should help it make money.

How does a movie like this turn out just mediocre with so much money thrown into it? Do the people making the movie not realize their movie is bland while they are making it or does it come as a total surprise to them when nobody wants to watch it?

The annoying thing is that the story is just easily laid out for them, all they had to do was follow it. The comic arc was amazing and probably one of the better story lines ever for Marvel. The trailer makes it look like they rehashed it and completely screwed it up.

Can anyone who has seen it confirm if you also know the comic story line?

She had ZERO angst in this film. Some parts were ok, but I don't think she has the chops to carry something like this.
