She surpassed me last year in earnings when I was having a chit year and not getting as big of bonuses. Not a flex.. just facts...
I make 6 figures and my wife makes more than I do.. and I couldnt give less fks to be honest. We live very comfortably and get to experience life from a very different view than a lot of people.. and for that I am thankfull
When I was single one of the boxes that needed to be checked (among 1,000's) for me to even consider seriously dating was she needed to have a career.. not just a job!!
Not into being Capt'n Save-a-Hoe...
Not trying to support some bish who managed to swallow enough dick to get a free boob job but couldn't manage to find a better job than a waitress at Hooters..
And what can I say... I got extremely lucky

I work in commercial real estate and earn about $120K...unless i move up to an executive position, my pay is likely topped out.
My wife just graduated grad school as a Psychiatric NP and has been interviewing for positions that start at $120K a year. She'll likely be out earning me very, very soon...and I'm perfectly okay with that.
It'll allow me a chance to focus on my own career and not have to worry about taking risks as much in order to advance.

There is some truth that as a woman earns more she expects more, which creates a paradox because her dating value itself doesn’t increase with income. That said there are other ways to achieve that. If you can’t dominate in income you can in personality, physicality, looks, etc.
Get a girl who is a programmer, scientist, etc - they generally aren’t feminine but can still be attractive and don’t need to be dominated financially in a relationship.
But back to the original point - if there’s higher divorce risk who cares? Financially you’ll be ok. Compared to a stay at home mom who you will pay support to for the rest of your years

Personally I don't see an issue with an s/o making more as long as both are gainfully employed.

Unless she doesn't think less of you for it or will ultimately and keep holding it against you and will ultimately break up with you because of it, it is not a problem that your girlfriend earns more than you. If you truly are bothered by it maybe step it up with your career ambitions. Also if people talk trash about your girlfriend earning more than you and your girlfriend still loves you and regards you just fine regardless listen to your girlfriend and eff the opinion of those who clown you for it.

Different strokes for different folks.
Got a gf who recently got engaged. (Everyone else joked asking if he had to use her card to buy the ring). She makes all the $ - he lives in her house and is a tradie with really flexible hours contributes where he can. She absolutely loves this arrangement. (They've been together for a good 6 years now). She specifically told me "That's why I chose him". She's a control freak and loves it when he is on her time. Vacation when & where she wants & plans it for him. He just basically tags along and dicks her up. She 10000% doesn't mind having a 'home maker'.
I've dated people who made less than me and have dated ones that made more. I don't think the salary matters as much to me as the person's intellect and drive. The biggest turn off is complacency for me.

Anecdotal evidence but if you have a career (rather than just a job) it won't matter who makes more. You're there to support eachother. If you're too insecure about that then you got trust issues or you're attracting the wrong person if you feel you need the "power" in the relationship by earning more.

It wouldn't bother me at all. I'd be happy for her if she got a raise or promotion and made more than me. The only way I could see it being a problem is if her making more than me was a problem for her

I can’t even fathom the people who don’t want more household income.
The only thing I can think of is that maybe you have separate bank accounts and the money is not also yours with the set up that you have?
I don’t know. My wife and I have had intertwined finances for two decades, so the more money one of us makes, the more money both of us make.
My wife makes about $75k more than I make. And I couldn’t be happier about that. I just can’t imagine wanting less money bc of pride... or something?

So while I'd be happy with a higher family income, I'm not prepared to trade any part of our lifestyle for it. The wife is taking part time secretarial type work at local schools and I'm cool with that.

A dude can be a good leader and steer his family's ship even if he doesn't make a lot of money. Leadership is a trait that needs to be cultivated in men by their own fathers and honed, ready to be used when they assume leadership of the household. It has little to do with the $$ figure.
A good example on the misc is carsalesbrah. He claims to be making a lot of money - whether true or not - his personality reeks of beta and being un-masculine, hence his reoccurring issues with LTRs.

I would say that if I made my income plus my wife’s at the thing that I love to do (I’m a teacher), then I would tell her that she could stay home and take care of things here. But I don’t really think she would want to do that. She loves what she does, too. She would probably spend less time doing it though.
In other words, I can’t find anything wrong with what you’re saying. But there’s more than one way to skin a cat and make everybody happy.

If you define victim broader to include psychological manipulation, lying, fraud, intimidation, threats, cheating, stealing, extortion etc then yes I am a victim.
And emotional/psychological manipulation or abuse can be even worse than physical abuse because it’s more insidious. You don’t know it’s happening while you’re in it.
Everyone thinks it can’t happen to them but it can happen to anyone if the person targeting you is intelligent enough and sociopathic enough. Probably only the highest level of intelligent/sociopathic people are immune, like Putin maybe. Anyone else can be vulnerable in some area of their life. And if your opponent is intelligent enough they will know how to target you and manipulate you.
If you don't know when someone is trying to manipulate you then you need to pay better attention to the world around you. It's your fault for getting manipulated, not the other person, they're just doing what they do.
Lastly, there is an on/off switch for empathy and feelings. Next time you find yourself in an argument or having problems in a relationship, turn them off and you can think about it rationally. It really helps when you have to do something unpleasant.
