A combination of ego and inexperience got this man killed

She was dealing with it well & trying to deescalate it-she even backed off & yet he kept coming at her & then assaulted her. Problem was he was one of those people that is looking for aggro all the time-likely fueled by booze & drugs. The only ego on display was him with his God complex & telling her he would not move for anybody & would kill them & her. It is like trying to deal/talk reason with a deluded Trump fanboy/global conspiracy nut.

It isn't like she just shot him, she kept telling him to back up & he kept coming at her. There was no partner to back her up, nobody else around willing to step in & help her, he had assaulted her already & kept charging at her while she was retreating, she couldn't overpower or outrun him-what the hell was she supposed to do exactly? She showed a lot more patience than most other cops or us would do in that situation. He got himself killed with his retarded behaviour, just like that imbecilic woman at the Capitol attack.

He wasn't really giving her enough distance to deploy it successfully-she was constantly retreating & he kept charging at her. He left with with no viable options-as he wouldn't let her leave, made death threats against her & everybody else there or who would come there. Also even if she did deploy it how successful would it likely have been? The guy took two bullets & showed nothing for some time-that many coats he must have been wearing likely would have made it ineffective.

Yep & she was likely sent because people when asked to move on nearly always do-in probably 95% plus of the situations, they move on with no real issues when asked to. Sadly This time it was a big dude with a really bad attitude that refused to listen, hold a decent/reasonable conversation, made death threats, assaulted her, wouldn't let her retreat etc.

Basically just a bully that was likely under the influence of booze/drugs that made his crappy personality even worse than usual. I have little doubt that if she hadn't shot him that he would have got her down & strangled her to death/pulled her gun out, or got it off her as she tried to save her life & shot & killed her with it. There are plenty of awful cop shooting decisions to get angry about, this is not one of them.

He's white so no one will care. White people don't play the ghetto lottery or get invited to space camp.

Women cops are so useless. Any time someone is unruly, execute them. A 14yo boy could overpower her.

There really needs to be a minimum physical standard for a police officer. A chad cop would have had that fat old bum hog tied in under a minute.

This I agree with & no cop should ever be riding alone or being sent into situations alone-especially nowadays, when rather than the old days where members of the public would usually help cops being overpowered or struggling to control somebody, we see over & over other people actually helping the person because they hate cops or think the cops are persecuting somebody. Or if the guy has a couple of his bum buddies loitering around to ambush.

I wouldn't guarantee a male cop would overpower him-I have seen film of big male cops being thrown around by lone guys high on drugs that are powerful. My mother when she was young witnessed a mental guy armed with a meat cleaver doing this & it took something like 10-12 male cops in the end to barely hold him down, while a doctor got a sedative shot into his arm.

I can remember at school me & a mate trying control another mate for a laugh at his request-I had more weight than him & yet he spun us around like we were nothing & threw us off-apparently he did some manual labouring work with his dad in the evenings & at weekends.

She cannot turn her back on him to run & he was quick for an old dude. Honestly you have no more idea than any of us, or any cop how you would react until you were in that situation. People say I would do this & that & then when it is happening they freeze up & do nothing.

Rather like emergency drills-everybody knows it is play acting & can act as instructed, but when it actually happens & you are knocked semi-unconcious by an explosion-then cannot hear anything or have limited hearing, see people around you with limbs blown off dead or screaming, a total panic with smoke everywhere, alarms going off,people running around scared & not knowing if there are other devices, you see other terrorists with knives etc running around stabbing people, then it becomes a different prospect.

You can argue all you like about whether she or women in general should be cops or not, but she handled that perfectly & gave that guy every chance to back off & he wouldn't. Just like he wouldn't listen when she was trying to calm him down, or hold a reasonable conversation with her. He bought everything on himself. Shame on the force for sending her out there on her own. Honestly I would have shot him long before she did-probably before he assaulted her.
