You know you've matured as a lifter when you stop giving a fuk about how much weight you lift and you focus on looking good and being healthy. Obviously pushing higher weights and continuing progressive overload is important, but if you care about what the number is relative to other people then you are still young.

Actually, I stopped caring about this a while ago
The reality is, if you want to lift more weight, you can just get fatter and/or take steroids. You can also do stupid chit like bouncing the bar on bench, wearing knee/elbow wraps, etc.
I cared alot about this stuff when I was younger but then realised I’m not willing to do the chit that’s required to maximise how much weight I can lift. At 6’2 I’m not going to be benching 405 while weighing 190 as a natty lifter

generations ago lifting weights wasn't even a thing and people survived just fine. now that we mostly live in the digital world people are searching for ways to artificially prove they are a man. if i can lift x surely i'll be considered manly lol

I mean, caring about personal progress is healthy, no?
If you set a lifelong bench PR why isn't that a nice thing? Even if someone on a forum starts screeching "anything less than 3 plates is what I could do when I was 15 lmao" - let them lol.
Personal progress is a great motivator srs.

Hell, I hate cardio, so what I try to do, is beat my previous session.
But you have these bottom feeders making excuses, for these bitches who are on their phone, or just sitting on a piece of equipment for 30 minutes, with this lost, bored look on their face, where they do a half assed set once every five to ten minutes......
But it is awesome, let's say the leg press machine for example, when they're done with a final set, they start to strip the plates, and you tell them it's all good, and start adding a few more 45lb plates for your warm up.

Always the most meathead potato IQ retards boasting about it, or commenting on how much weight some other guy can lift.
Honestly, if you're 30+ and still care about this stuff.... son.

those with chit to sell or market (gyms memberships, equipment, supps, clothes, videos, training styles, etc) were really on to something when they decided making men as vain as women would be a huge money maker.
