Yes they're that good. The secondary has improved a bit but the front 7 is much improved even outside of the two DTs (But they seriously help).

Shows you how bad fua is lol. But Mitchell has brought some attitude to this defense. Josh Thomas and Norman are also not playing.

still on cloud 9 after this win! 2 weeks in a row we've gotten wins with subpar offensive performances. last 2 years, we would have lost this game. we're legit and relevant again

Klein stepped in and was big today. Guys stepping up all over the place is what you need if you plan on making a serious run.

All I can say for next week is, Cam has to play better in big games.

Usually stinks it up when the rest of the country is watching.

Granted, we had tons of drops and mediocre protection at best.

Played well on snf. Granted it was the bucs. Cam may lose confidence when his receivers drop his passes. But when he gets rolling he's as good as anyone.

I think at this point we can come to a decent conclusion on Cam…

He's very accurate when there's little pressure
He's not accurate under pressure
He can't throw touch passes well
He can break the **** out of a tackle

He's the worst in NFL at throwing the ball out of bounds.

A better receiving group could make those touch passes more consistent.

I disagree. Better WR would certainly help. No doubt. But he hasn't shown any type of ability to put air under it on a deep pass, or throw a back shoulder pass, etc.

I'm not saying he sucks, just pointing out clear limitations.

I'm just saying WRs making better separation could make it easier. Ginn is the only one capable right now, but just isn't a very good receiver.

They are that good. Good DL coming into the NFL are usually able to make a instant and noticeable impact. These guys have both been studs vs pass an run. The secondary is completely revamped…only like captain is the same from that group. Heck sometimes i still wonder who hafl those guys are lol. Our stellar front 7 takes so much pressure off those guys but so far they have been making nice plays, locking down some big name receivers.

He refuses to chuck it, sometimes he'd much rather try to bust a run from 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage instead of tossing it out of bounds

Certainly this. Lafell has made improvements but the receivers as a whole are crap in comparison to most teams aroudn the league. The dropped passes have killed us this year and despite that cams numbers are still really good. I think they need to design more plays to help get smitty the ball, given hes not a deep threat like he has been all his career he needs to be used more than just on the outside.

Right, we know how good they are and how good they've been, but we monitor every detail of the team. Other people just see that we haven't even been a .500 team since i dont know when. So in a way its justifiable but this was our statement game.

Before today I could've sworn he had one of the best completion percentages when Defenses bring 5 or more.

Just did a little digging and it looks like we've moved up into the FIRST wildcard spot now, yes? This due to us now holding the tie breaker over SF.

SF and NO also play both SF/NO (They play each other) and Seattle again this year, too.

We got a better than for real shot to make the playoffs, folks. This win was huge!

On top of that we've only allowed 115pts on the season. That's 2nd behind KC at 111. By comparison Seattle (159) and SF(155) aren't even really in the ballpark. Unreal!

When he's under pressure his mechanics get much worse and his throws sail. Yes, that happens to all QBs but its more pronounced with Cam. I'm not saying he's bad, and his strengths certainly outweigh his weaknesses.

Yes, if playoffs started next week, we would be in the 5 spot.

Sweet win. I got home late to watch the game (unspoiled) and my DVR cut off with about 1 minute left. What a great game!

I completely agree with you. I think the completion percentage was a credit to him taking his check downs properly on blitzes. Pretty excited at the fact that Cam hasn't played well in the past two games and we've gotten the W. If Cam plays well and the defense clicks we can play with anyone.

We're definitely going to need him against the Pats and Saints.

I know it was ugly as could be at the end but we went into the 4th quarter losing… against a first class team… on the road… and came out with a win. That's a big stride considering the 4th quarter issues that have plagued this team for 3 years now.

Yep.

And especially since I had two niners fans over at my house to watch it lol.

And literally everyone back home is a niners fan mostly.

So it was double nice to get that win.

I have a few friends on ******** that are niners fans. So many excuses from those jabronis. Kept going on about how they had injuries. I pointed out that every team has injuries, and we had a make shift secondary and offensive line. They had no excuse for coming out of a bye, at home and getting completely shut down. The better defense won this game.

Also, their team had some questionable calls. Like not going for it on 4th down on like the 1 or 2 yard line, and doing that read option on 2nd and 1.

Will be interesting to see how our defense holds up against the 1st "elite" QB we will be facing thus far with Brady. As long as we can get a steady pass rush like usual, we should come out with a W. Stoked that this big of a game is on Monday Night Football for the whole country to see. Cam will have to play a lot better and our wr will have to make more plays for us. After watching the gm yesterday, I sort of wish we would have made a trade for Nicks… Oh well
