Its just too much of a risk IMO. Would rather spend picks on Watkins if he's there or other stud guys and hope for Ebrand in 2nd round. Or sign generally competent guys. Or both.

I'm not a fan of Nicks, even though he went to UNC.

Yeah but what if Gettleman decides to draft O-Line in the 1st round? Something that is very possible with Gross aging, Bell being a liability and lack of depth. Somehow we need to get a #1 WR in here, i'm not sure if Sammy Watkins can be that guy, I do like the idea of Ebron in the 2nd, dude is a play maker.

Its is highly unlikely Panthers can draft Watkins since he will probably be the first WR taken in the draft. The only way they will get Ebron is if they take him in the 1st round since he will probably be the first TE taken in the draft.

I'd take WR Marquise Lee/Jordan Matthews, TE Eric Ebron, CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu/Jason Verrett or OT Cyrus Kouandjio in the 1st.

I'm straight on board to give more carries to Tolbert there. In truth Williams had one great run and there wasn't anything going besides that. None of the backs were as effective as Gio or Ellington.

I expected/hoped for Tolbert in that closer role as well. Good between the tackles and he's just flat out been one of our best offensive players this whole year. Not the type of guy to get fancy and make mistakes.




Jaws was just on NFL Live saying how he was really impressed at how Cam stepped up late in that game. I know his overall numbers weren't much of anything but minus the drops they wouldn't have been so bad. It's baby steps but for a guy that's not been a QB in a legit system but for basically two and a half years he's showing progress. If we can beat SF I know we can handle NE. I was mostly impressed by the whole team, even Cam. The defense got better as the game went on and the offense just kept trying to do something. They made a few big mistakes (INT and 2 fumbles late) but the team didn't get down. Just when we all expected a collapse the defense just said **** it and turned the rape up to 11. Despite not playing well the past 2 games, Cam sucked it up and moved on immediately. He didn't dwell on anything and got better as the game went on.

Flew southwest to Vegas for wedding and was scared I would miss game. Had iPad and Sunday ticket ready for coverage and my cam jersey. I am one of the last to board plane so I get stuck in middle seat. To my left is an old woman and to my right is a big black dude who bertstared the chit out of me when I sat down. He then told me he was a sergeant major in the USMC and was going back home for a few weeks. Game kicks off and I quickly find out he is from SF. Not going to lie I was intimidated as fuk. He took the loss better than I would

Kinda off-topic from the win, but bc I'm bored and wanted to look up more up Gettleman/what he has done for us/etc.. it looks like as it stands right now, we only have about $110m dollars committed towards the 2014 cap(guessing the cap will remain about the same at $124'ish million).

That's HUGE considering that we came into last year what, $10+ million OVER the cap?

Any extension from Cam would be next year. I'm assuming they get him for 4-5 years during the summer. They'll resign Hardy for sure…and have decent room to get a replacement WR or two I hope.

True. Summer is probably the right time. The number just surprised me so effin much man. Last year Carolina was roughly $16 million OVER the cap going into the 2013-2014 league year. After cuts, restructures, etc they got that number low enough to sign a pretty significant amount of new guys(+ draft picks).. so going into next year they'll be able to do that same thing to lower that number and then, if they wanted, get the big guys signed/extended. Maybe sign one of the big time FA WR's(not that there are any significant names out there outside of Nicks..), OL, etc..

This teams future is as bright as I can remember.

Apparently on NBC Sports Eric Kuselias, Scott Pioli, and Rodney Harrison all said that there will be future problems in Carolina because Cam won't be able to share the spotlight with Carolina's defense. They said "he can't handle playing second fiddle to that defense" and "his immaturity is going to cause problems"

UHHHHHHHHHHHH DA FUK? That is literally the dumbest thing I've ever seen any national media outlet say about the Panthers(srs)

Side note - what the **** did Carolina do to the national media to make them hate us so much? As a team we've dealt with so much bullshiit in the past 5 years(in terms of constant failure by the team and disappointment from the fans). I know I should focus on the team winning and ignore these shiitheads but dammit it rustles my jimmies.

Well consider the 3 people. Kuselias got fired from ESPN because he was sexually harassing women and was a douche. Rodney Harrison said the Panthers should bench Cam for Derek Anderson (maybe Cam phucked his wife or something). And Scott Pioli is the only person capable of making Todd Haley seem like a decent guy.

for real though, about where would you rank him among currently active interior linemen now that Atkins is done for the year?

I haven't seen an interior presence like this from Carolina since Kris Jenkins. I know I say that all the damn time but when an interior linemen has arguably been your teams biggest hole for 4-5+ seasons you tend to overreact when you finally fill that void.

Also regarding the draft, sammy watkins will not be there when we pick. I think we should take a Oline first if we cant get one of the top receivers. Any big name receivers coming into free agents this offseason?
