Gotta remember that our OL has even very inconsistent. WR is definitely a glaring need but given Gross could retire next year, it's anyone's guess.

We could go ATL and trade up for Watkins but trading up has always ended badly for us so i'd rather keep our picks and play the cards as they fall. I would only go full potato trade mode for a fitz/megatron caliber prospect and there are no guys even comparable.

Not really. Hakeem Nicks is available but as chlax said it kinda irks me that he has given up. Loved the guy but he's gonna cost a lot.

Outside of that there are tons of #2 type guys. I guess we could go that route; sign a bunch of (kinda) cheap guys and hope for the best haha.

Feels so fuking good to say none of that matters, though. Cam is good enough to get by with "just okay" receivers, and our defense is set for years with dat front 7. Seriously it barely even matters who we trot out in the secondary when we can wreck havoc on good lines just rushing 4.

Ted Ginn
Hakeem Nicks
Jeremy Maclin
Emmanuel Sanders
Danario Alexander
James Jones
Anquan Boldin
Mario Manningham
Eric Decker

P.S. Marquise Lee and Mike Evans might be drafted before Sammy Watkins.

Lee, Evans, Watkins would all be welcome picks in my mind. I think Oline fall further down the ranks this year because of the superior qb pool at the top.

also please please please please PLEASE do not give a contract to Nicks. dude ****ing sucks. not even old and already washed up and injury prone. Doesn't even look like he has the passion in a contract year.

of those listed I like sanders.
Jones will likely be resigned, danario acls are comically bad, nicks I coverd, manningham………lol, decker is good but playing with manning might inflate his value, not very sure handed. Ginn we could resign since we got chemistry, depends on his price.

If we went WR then Lee, Evans, and Watkins would all be money in the bank IMO. I'm intrigued to see what Evans does at the next level, physically he's someone that can't be matched up with and a redzone threat like that is something we seriously lack.

Guys - If I were a NFL GM, I would take the DLINE or OLINE with my first round pick every year. Much easier to project who will do well / bust. IF I took WR, it would have to be a CAN'T MISS type.

Of course when we picked Cam I thought we should have taken Patrick Peterson, and stayed in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes, so what do I know.

Honestly until the giants got Cruz and Nicks, that was how they were for as long as I can remember. They would rely on Eli to do most of the work and got a bunch of solid guys (manningham/steve smith/hixon) but no super dominant stars. Cam would be fine with multiple guys that aren't exactly studs but are good enough to get the job done. I'm not opposed to having duel tight ends either.

yup exactly couldn't agree with you more.

said it before the year that while WR's certainly help a QB, it's not even half as much as a QB helps a WR. as long as Cam is fine our offense will be fine..

now that's not to say we can afford to be trotting out the offense New England stuck Brady with to start the season. We still need weapons for Cam, but as long as we've got some reliable guys who won't drop 3rd down conversions(currently our guys are too inconsistent..) and a good RB/stable of RB's(obviously we have this) we don't need that elite receiver.

All that said I would be totally on board with using a high draft pick(rounds 1-2) on a WR or TE. More hesitant on the TE front but if there is a Graham/Gronk/etc caliber athlete it would be worth it. They're as valuable/important/utilized as a true #1 receiver, and Olsen just hasn't lived up to the potential. IMO at least.

Sorry for the scattered rambling lol. Tend to do that pretty often when it's this late.

my arguement for taking a WR 1st is that a the sure fire WRs will leave the board 1st while they should be still be very good tackles in the 2nd round.

smith can only fight father time so long.

and I still think Lafell is too weak a 2nd WR for a serious contendor.

2 TEs we should look at are Ebron from UNC (pains me to say that) or the one i like, Jace Amaro from Texas Tech

both are ridiculous receiving threats and would be good to pair with Olsen. and both are big. Ebron is 6'4 i think and Amaro is 6'5

we have a TE on roster who is supposed to be an athletic freak in Brandon Williams, but he's been out of football for like 2 years. he could be a hidden gem. dude is like 6'4 250 at ~7% bf, or so all the beat writers say. Cam calls him Swole Bones

If I can want Jabari Parker on the Hornets, you can want Ebron on the Panthers. It's okay.

Olsen is solid but I agree the hasn't lived up to his potential. Hes more or less a receiving tight end, hes not worth a whole lot blocking so his receiving ability needs to be high and so far it hasn't been too exceptional. Hes almost just another WR out there. Also wouldn't be disappointed to keep Ginn, he has made some big plays for us and I feel like I always notice him making good blocks down field, waiting to see him bust a punt return.

Heres a cool video about the upcoming game. http://sports.yahoo.com/video/playbo...020720855.html

I was hoping the Saints would get knocked off today but SF blew it. Probably a good thing long term for our playoff picture, anyway, as that now gives us a game and the tie breaker edge on them if we can knock off New England tomorrow night.

Agreed.

Think our chances are better of sliding in underneath Saints into post season. Rather than trying to win out the division itself. Let the NFC West and North kill eachother lol.

will be interesting to see how well the pats Oline does. unlike a lot of coaches Bilichek doesn't seem to forget about investing there and it pays of in extremley subtle ways.

getting to brady is going to be a big challenge.

flip side I think the pats could get some pressure on cam, need to be keep his head of swivel and move.

Why you gotta be racist and only get the white jersey? That's messed up man. We president now and people still won't give a brotha a Kuechly jersey.

btw just stopped by to say if the 49ers can't win it this year(and it's looking like it's not meant to be this season) I hope you guys win the ship. Great defense and would like to see Steve Smith get a ring.

Plus Saint/Seattle fans already think they have the whole thing won so I'd love to see them have some humble pie.
