I know it's not as blatant of a situation as the ending possible no call, but the Patriots got away with that one, which was huge because it took one of our best players out as well, yet Patriots fans don't have **** to say about it.
We didn't give up a TD on any drive that Charles Johnson played on (except the one he got taken out) which includes the last one of the game. I'd say his injury was pretty significant though none of these Patriots guys will admit that it was likely intentional.

Any updates on CJ?

I've heard it's a sprained MCL and he's probably going to be listed as doubtful for next weekend.

sprained MCL is 4-6 weeks normally.

Jacoby Jones had one.

As usual when Carolina has a primetime game I record all the morning sports talk shows and Cowherd put it best. I'm paraphrasing here but he pretty much said:

-Don't blame your teacher for giving you a B-, you had 8 weeks to make it an A+.
-We love to blame losses on a MOMENT
-2 of Cam's 3 touchdown passes came on 3rd down.
-Cam ran for 4 first downs(3 scrambles)
-New England fumbled in the redzone, essentially spotting us at minimum 3 points. That's one CRUCIAL turnover from a team that rarely does that.
-NE didn't get any takeaways, which is extremely uncharacteristic of them
-Carolina was 8/11 on 3rd down
-Everyone blames the moment, not the preparation

This is coming from a guy who doesn't like Cowherd, and Cowherd is a guy that until recently has bashed Cam/Panthers at every turn.

All of that stuff wasn't even including that cheap shot on Johnson on their TD drive. Or letting Cam literally cockslap half the NE defense on that late scramble for a first down.

Great win, folks. We've got some favorable matchups to end the year but we can't let the hype get into our heads. Gotta take every game seriously and finish strong.

we should be focusing on 2nd playoff seed right now instead of patting ourselves on the back for getting this far. pats lose and they are like "shiit how is this gonna effect our playoff situation." we have never had that mindset.

we really cant trade with the aints, they are unlikely to lose to the rams. we need to win both games and clinch a bye.

#2 seed plays the winner of 49ers lions (projected)

#5 seed plays eagles, then seahawks (projected)

So I doubt anyone listens to the local Raleigh sports guys in the morning, but I about died laughing this morning. First, they're rarely serious so don't take this too serious. One guy asks the other what he thinks the 7-3 Panthers final record will be.

9-7…

Sooo…apparently the Panthers are going to go 0-2 against the Saints (fine, whatever)
And 2-2 against the Dolphins, Jets, Bucs, and Falcons…

I think we can go 10-6 easily. And if we beat the Saints 1 out of 2, possible 11-5.

our options are 13-3 on down to 9-7

ceteris paribus, by power rankings we should trend toward 11-5 with 2 losses to the saints. if you figure 1 game variance, we could finish at 12-4 trading with the saints or 10-6 with a loss to miami.

They're not collapsing to 9-7. And I think they're going to finish 11-5, but I agree with the possible variance to 10-6 or 12-4.

Just saw the rage thread over the call. LOL. I'm not sure if the fans or talib are more rustled over the game.. Pats had chances to win, they cant blame it on 1 play. I hope manning throttles those *******s this weekend and rustles them even more.

Me too. I'm hoping Peyton throws 4 TD's or so and they just get handled.

I just want to say I've witnessed some crazy shiit in sports. Undrafted guys coming out of nowhere to take the fuk over. Career journeyman find the right team, right coach, and absolutely go off. Unusually long streaks(both the good and bad kinds)… Hell even though I was only 13 I still remember Jake Delhomme bursting onto the scene.

I have to say, though.. that without question one of the most inexplicable things is the sudden un-potato'ing(for lack of a better word) of Ron Rivera. This is the guy that was on the verge of getting fired, the GM was starting the search for a new HC FFS.. and now he's coaching up to and beating guys like Harbaugh? Bill ****ing Beli? Some times you just see failure in guys from the beginning(Jimmy Clausen for example..) and I have to admit I saw that in Rivera pretty early. But dammit I'm that mans biggest fan now.

not 100% sold on him yet actually. He drafted good Defense backs. needs to get more out of the secondary.

He really did snap mentally after the bills and grow some ball offensively though. Quick quick turnaround.

so if the falcons win tonight we are the only real winners.

obvious saints lose and we are tied for the division

then the falcons lose draft positon.

that said there is not much about this matchup that doesn't favor the saints besides the game being in the georgia dome.

Being from Charlotte, I wish they had put the Hurricanes here. I like hockey. Don't follow it, but used to go to college hockey games in Utah all the time when I was in college. Been to one Canes game, and that was in DC. I did watch the Stanley Cup when they one it, and I liked there ******** page, so I'm doing as much as anyone could be expected in a city where they are not covered at all. Also had a Hurricanes shirt in 6th grade.

its the Patriots. do you really expect them to have anything to say about that? no, but that shiit should've been flagged just as much as that last play should have. that 15 yarder would've put the Patriots in a 3rd and 20+ i believe and they would have more than likely had to punt. i think they converted a 4th down on that drive and ended up with a TD

They're basically a slightly more explosive version of NE. We've got the recipe to beat them, it should be two really good matchups.

I think their defense is better(slightly) than NE and if Brees gets going he's a tough man to stop(and jimmy graham ughhh).

The biggest thing that worries me is Sean Payton. Beli is obv fukin great but I'm not sure there is a coach in football on Payton's level when it comes to running an offense. Dudes brilliant; if there are holes in the defense we will find out when we face them.

Personally I think when it just comes to the game calling(factoring out the personnel/roster handling aspect where Beli excels in) Payton is the best in the game. Has there been many games in the last few year where a Payton-lead saints team hasn't at the very least been in it till the end?
