This week has me on edge again, brahs.

Lately we've been relying a lot on big time plays on 3rd and 4th down through the air to sustain drives. A lot of those big throws have gone Smitty's way. If we get in those situations and Revis mans up on Smitty we're gonna be in trouble. Can Lafell and Olsen carry the load in the crucial situations? That plus Glennon is playing well right now and we'll be without CJ again. If our pass rush is as weak as last week then VJax finna get his. TB is significantly better than Miami, IMO. Hope we come out of the gates fast because this isn't the same Tampa team that we played earlier.

Revis is questionable right now and even if he does play, he won't be near 100% so I think Smitty will have a better day than expected

Smitty made a complete turn around in my mind when he destroyed talib (who had been playing as one of the best corners). He's not gonna put up consistent 100 yard games but hes always there when **** gets rough. Example : that 4th and 10 rocket cam threw him.

Also panthers arent gonna sleep on bucs, they are aware the bucs are making some noise and its a big rivalry game. Prob not as big as sainst/falcons rivalry but still a big rivalry.

Good win. Cam was great minus 2 terrible throws. Defense got better as the game went on (seems to be a trend). I feel like the team as a whole just gets stronger and stronger as the game goes on.

Huge win Philly beating the Cards. 2 game lead on top WC spot.

Glad to see Ginn and LaFell still step up today. Like it was mentioned above, Smitty isn't going to have the 100 yd games like he used to, but when Cam needed him he was there.

Ginn and Cam made Revis look like a damn fool on that TD though

Our draft class is really contributing well. Star, Short, and Klein all played well today. What a huge game next week. I hope Seattle physically beats on the Saints big time Monday so they're depleted against us.

In on this thread so much (didn't know it existed). Been a Panthers fan since '01, and attended ~30 games.

So odd seeing people on the bandwagon.

It was a bit sarcastic , as I supported App as my collegiate football team – until my UNCC 49ers started their inaugural season.

I am a believer in loving a single team/person in each sport. I support the Panthers, and the 31 are nothing more than (potential or actual) obstacles between us and a title.

Is anyone else more excited about Sunday night's game than any other game since the 2008 Monday night meeting against the Bucs?

oh, well then i will definitely give you a hearty Phuck UNCC on that one. and i hope their program completely tanks! i'm still a bit bitter about CUSA taking them over App solely because of "TV" market and not factoring in App's football success. but oh well, Sun Belt is a much better football conference

UNCC brah checking in. Albeit an alum.

The more I think about it in a way not having a true dominant receiver has helped Cam in regards to the future. The guy will throw it to anyone and despite us not having a stable of studs he hits multiple receivers multiple times every game. We've developed a very balanced passing attack which I think will serve Cam well down the road. I really wanna see Smitty in the slot, though. His strength in there will be pretty hnnnggg.

Good win setting up a big showdown next week. Can't wait, prime time, baby!

Great win!

Why is JS STILL GETTING CARRIES?
C. Newton 5 68 13.6 1 56
M. Tolbert 9 48 5.3 0 17
J. Stewart 14 39 2.8 0 6
K. Barner 5 6 1.2 0 2
D. Anderson 1 2 2.0 0 2
Team 34 163 4.8 1 56

And Tolbert is a phucking beast. A beasty bowling ball.

Speaking of Beast, did anyone see Beason launch RG3 a few yards backward last night?

Idk about starting…I think being that he comes off the bench it allows him to be fresh all game and make plays. Full time starting could have diminishing returns. I do think he needs more than 3-4 touches a game which is what he gets with active jstew and dwill

I think the Saints playing the Seahawks tonight works out perfectly for us. They've gotta travel back from the west coast and play us on a short week. Plus, even though our offense is different than Seattle it'll be great for us to see what the Saints gameplan is vs. a QB that can run like Wilson. This will be without question our most difficult game of the season playing @ New Orleans. I like our chances with Charles Johnson. Without him? Yeah….

Cam is growing on me more and more every game. He has a few probs with decision making but doesn't let it get to him. He gets s**t done. Carolina has proven they can win a big prime time game. I expect final drives to decide Sunday nights winner.

Stewy isn't what he used to be. He's probably still not 100%
I fuccking hate Deangelo. Most overrated piece of shtt and all of NC nut hugs him even tho he hasnt done anything good in 3 years

See how smoothly our offense ran Sunday with out having to dig out of 2nd and 9.5 after a DeAngelo 1st down run.
Tolbert is a monster. Is he going to break the corner and go for a 55 yarder? no…
but is he going to beat the living hell out of a dline 5-8 yards at a time? allllllllll day

Tolbert means the D creeps to the middle cause no single human man can take him down , THEN BOOM Cam shakes and bakes to the outside. It would be perfect.

Just for the record DWill averages 4.0 ypc on the year and Tolbert averages 3.9… so it's not like Tolbert is shredding the D for "5-8 yards at a time" and DWill is averaging .5ypc on first down as you imply… just sayin.

DWill isn't quite the runner he used to be, no. I think most DWill fans (myself included) don't like him because he's a stud workhorse running back. We like him because he's been a career long Panther and is an outstanding human being. He's a dude that I'd want on my favorite team all day every day even if he wasn't the lead back. Is he overpaid? Yeah, we knew that when he signed the deal. Is it hurting us that he's overpaid? No, I can't recall that we've missed out on any signings because he's making a little more than he should.

I think the best thing about Carolina is the balance they have on offense. We can and will throw it to any receiver at any time and we have had two (now three) backs all year that can carry the ball effectively. Throw in Cam on top of that and you have the makings of a fairly dynamic offense, even though due to our team composition we don't score a ton of points. I think we could score a ton of points but it's not really to our strength to try and do it.

Anyway, that's my DWill defense for the day. I don't see how any Panthers fans could hate the guy like that but to each his own. For what it's worth I don't think Tolbert is a 20-25 carry type of guy so he needs some help.

I see remnants of what Stewart was, in his prime, within Tolbert's playing. I think that Tolbert may demand a big raise at the end of the season, so I don't know how well that will go over.
