I've heard a lot of people hit up Hickory Tavern by Uptown

He had his moments but it's either cut him and save $5m of cap space or keep him and have a $7.1 million dollar cap hit. Classic example of a cap casualty. I'd much rather use that money to resign Mitchell/Mikell.

Does anyone know how much a franchise tag will cost on Greg Hardy? I'm a little rusty on that subject but doesn't it take the top 5 players in terms of salary at that position, averages it, and that's the one year number?

and to add, cutting Stewart would actually accelerate roughly $19 MILLION dollars in dead money, in comparison to a reasonable $6m cap hit if we keep him.. so anyone that thought he may get cut this offseason was mistaken. He is 100% guaranteed to be a Panther next year. Cutting DeAngelo would have minimal savings(roughly $1m I believe) this year and would actually add a cap hit to 2015. I think he's looking a lot better this year and is worth keeping around given how heavily we depend on our run game.

Let's all take a second and give a round of ****ing applause to Dave Gettlemen. The progress he's made in digging us out of the Hurney-hole is nothing short of amazing. He used what little money he had to spend this offseason on guys like Mitchell, Mikell, Wharton, Cole, Ginn, etc..

gotta head to work now but I want to make a big post outlaying our future when it comes to the salary cap, impending free agents, cuts, etc. when I get back .
Looking forward to this.

And Godfrey has got to go.

Gettlemagic has done an incredible job, I couldn't be happier. the one thing about Gettlemen is that he won't overpay for free agents which is why I think there is a chance we could lose Hardy.

Sounds like one of the many born-again Seahawks fans on the sports misc that are the most ignorant posters here when it comes to actually knowing anything about football.

In other news, I finally have a Panthers game on FOX! No more scrounging the web for a stream that freezes every couple seconds and is in 8-bit resolution. Lets lock up a bye brahs!!!

I liked watching the games at Bikini's over near UNC-Charlotte. Plenty of TVs and the waitresses wear bikini tops so the view is nice too.

At around week 3 I expected us to finish 5-11/6-10 at best, with Ron Rivera being fired by midseason.

Dead serious.

the only thing I can say about the Bills game was, Mario Williams was going against Byron fuking Bell and we lost 3 DBs in the 2nd half of that game and had to play potato Norman on that last drive

It was still **** coaching. And Kuechly actually blew that one.

But they changed shortly thereafter…so maybe it was a good thing.

Started with this following the Seahawks game:

Alright

Hard fought games on both sides. Seattle is a very good team(obviously, one of the trendy super bowl picks) and we held strong. Hearing lots of bs chatter about their defense being riddled with injuries but no mention of our offensive line being injured as well.. it was their backups vs. ours.

Some points I'd like to hit on..

- DWill looked as fresh running the ball as I've seen him in a while. He was finding holes, getting away from tackles in the open field, looked as fast as ever… obviously that fumble was probably (IMO definitely) the reason we lost this game, but that isn't something you'll see DWill do often. I'm stoked on our run game considering he was running behind a patchwork offensive line & we'll still be getting Stewart back midseason.
- OL performed well given two backups were starting(Wharton was one, who has been out of football for over a year). Kalil lookin joocy.
- Smitty still got it
- Almost as big as DWill's fumble were Greg Olsen's drops. He dropped two sure first downs, one of which was when we were approaching their territory and we could have scored(yeah coulda shoulda woulda, still) and carried a bigger lead than 7. With a weak receiving corps we desperately need Greg Olsen to be dependable and he was not today. Hope that changes.
- Cam also looked as good as I've seen him(inb4 but only 7 pts!). Accurate, calm as fuk, patient, smart..
- Rivera I am impressed. Play calling was fantastic. Didn't try to get fancy, played to our strengths, made good decisions(lots of folks saying he shouldn't have challenged that catch but I'd bet every coach in the NFL would've challenged that). You all know how I feel about Rivera.. he legit impressed me. You can't blame him for the secondary players not being able to hang with their guys..
- DAT FRONT SEVEN. Do I need to say more? I will anyways. Star is legit. LB's were flying around the ball at all times. Jimmie Russler, who is among the best in the game at moving around in/out of the pocket and avoiding pressure, was constantly running for his life. Beastmode was, for the most part, completely shut down.. and they have a pretty damn good OL, too. It didn't matter; our d-line was fuking going nuts up until they started running out of gas in the final couple drives. It's amazing what a legit interior threat can do for the defense as a whole.
- Secondary is wack and our pass rush bailed their scrub-asses out. Not stoked about having to face Brees & Ryan twice this year.

Overall I thought it was a good, well fought game. I'm confident if Rivera calls games like he did today we're gonna win a decent amount of games. Whether it's enough to propel us ahead of NO/ATL, not sure about that.. but we're gonna be a good team. Just unfortunate we play in such a good division.
Then this after the crushing Bills loss.

Edit: scrolled up.

Lol'd. Fukin hate all aspects of this organization. From the coaches, assts, front office, ownership. EVERYTHING.

- Top-to-bottom coaching staff purge. HC, OC, DC, assistants.. pretty much anyone that has been involved in training this team needs to go. Obviously that isn't fair to some of the assistants who are probably fine but are brought down by Rivera, but I think it may be for the best for a COMPLETE, not half ass, overhaul.

- Complete overhaul of the roster. Off the top of my head, I can think of 7, maybe 8 players that deserve to stay here. Cam, Kalil, Silatolu, Kuechly, C. Johnson, Hardy(re-sign), Star, Short, Olsen. Yes. That means getting rid of Smitty, Stewart, DWill, Gross, T. Davis, Godfrey, Beason. Guys who clearly aren't TERRIBLE players, some even still damn good(Smitty), but something about this group of players just isn't getting it done(not even mentioning they're all stupidly overpaid outside of Smitty). We've tried keeping them and building around them, some half-ass rebuilding efforts, and it's just failed. As thin as our WR depth is, and Smitty being my all-time favorite NFL player, it seems full on potato.. but I just think there is something with him and Cam that rubs me the wrong way.. and Cam is clearly more valuable to us long term than Smitty is..

- We'd have to spend some money in free agency if we purged that many players as it'd open up a slew of starter spots. Hakeem Nicks is one UFA receiver that I've always loved. Frankly I'm not the least bit worried about losing our RB's.. so easily replaceable thru mid-late round drafting or free agency. Corner, OL, and WR seem to be the bigger priorities and if we draft right I think we'll do fine. This plan would all but count us out for 2014 so it is a bit drastic, but I just don't like this core of players. Most of their problems fall back on Rivera, and it's not their fault Hurney overpaid them.. but it's time to move on.

Just my 2 cents. If we win convincingly this week I'll be back on the playoffs bandwagon so take it for what it's worth, lol.
Damn. In all reality we really did fire Ron Rivera. Whoever was coaching this team for previous 2 seasons is NOT Riverboat Ron.. and I'm srs.
