Depends on what they are doing when they are having a mental health crisis. I think most murderers are probably deranged in one way or another. They deserve the death sentence because they can't function in our society. If the mental issue is causing the person to cause physical harm to multiple people on multiple occasions and they can't be a part of society, then kill them.

Or don't kill them, and then everyone can say later "omg, this guy was a violent offender over and over again and was out on the streets! he should have been dealt with before he murdered x number of people!" Well this is a dude being dealt with before his violence became worse than it already was.

In foreign countries it's common for bystanders to just watch something happen without getting involved. Why? Because of situations like this. Even if you get involved and help with the best intentions you could easily be found liable or held accountable for what happens. People who have tried to stop violence publicly have found themselves being charged for "harming" the offender. Those offering medical or first aid have been found civilly liable and sued by victims families for rendering aid which either caused more damage or resulted in death anyways. So what exactly is the best course of action? Let the person continue to be an idiot and do nothing at the cost of someone innocent being harmed or yourself OR try to stop them or do the right thing and end up being carted off to court or jail/prison. No good deed goes unpunished.

I just want to know why you can be arrested for doing the world a favor and making it a better place.

Is just surreal to me.

Bohooo, crack head pencil neck couldn't stand being choked a bit. I don't see why you would choose to subdue him like that though. Just the thought of having a crack head bum that close to my body makes me want to throw up.

Just some random names from that list.

Antonio Martin - pulled a gun first on cops, who fired in response
Tamir Rice - held a realistic looking fake pistol and pointed it directly at cops
Felix Kumi - okay, this guy was a bystander hit by a stray cop bullet....which was being fired at a black robber
Darius Stewart - Can't get full details, but the officers report is that Stewart resisted arrest and managed to grab his handcuffs from belt and attack him
Samuel DuBose - tried to drive off during a traffic stop, officer claims that he was being dragged by the car so went for headshot
Dontre Hamilton - became violent whilst being patted down by cop, manaqed to grab cop's baton and started assaulting him with it

Bear in mind these are just 6 random names from that list, and only ONE man was genuinely not at fault. I can imagine going through the whole list that the vast majority were doing something stupid that contributed to them being killed.

Just don't. I lived in Seattle and crossed paths with dozens of batchit homeless every single day.

Never interacted. Never gave them ocular threat assessments. Certainly never tried to play NPC hero and choke one out to show oiff. Just how ya doin' keep it movin' at all times. The only way to win is not to play. This is basic street smarts.

The idea that you automatically get a pass to do whatever you want to someone because they are a homeless pos only exists on the misc. It's not real life.

Marine boy was not defending himself….no one was attacking him or was a threat to his life.

Instead of grabbing the dude from behind and squeezing him till he was dead, the marine should have just spoken up and told the dude to shut the fukk up and sit down. If Michael Jackson attacked him for doing that, then he was defending himself.

You can’t just walk up on someone from behind and strangle them for talkin sh*t.

Once you know what it feels like to watch the life slowly leave someone's eyes, it's tough to stop.

No

The victim was being aggressive but that does not call for a violent solution.

Also restraining someone does not mean killing someone.

Crackhead could have easily stopped being a criminal, in fact, he had 42 chances to stop, but he didn't. Marine deserves an award and maybe a full time position choking out crackheads.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Yeah, it takes nothing for these slap happy white dudes to throw you in a choke hold. I was put in a full nelson and knocked out in public just for sassing back once. No punches thrown by me. I was seated, not violent at all. Just rubbed the guy the wrong way, and boom, he throws me into a choke hold I was out like a light. Guy was like 6ft7in. I'm 5ft 5in. Not exactly a fair shake. Your average empowered white dude thinks he can kill if someone looks at him sideways.
Another thing they like to do is punch one in the head. I hate when they do that - especially when they crack me in the side of the head.

But choking is their favorite. They think it's humane. Another time I was seated in class and talking back again, trying to make my point, and they put a garrote around my neck and knocked me out. It was the kind used to restrain animals. They knocked me out that time too the sick ****s.

Once they get it into their brains that they can get away with it because they think no one will fight for you, they feel that they ARE the law. It doesn't matter that the "animals" like me that they think they can control have also paid their fair share of taxes.
The white man is scary and never to be trusted.
