yeah nanee is garbage, i assume the only reason we got him was to have 1 WR that was familiar with their system. Lafell makes some pretty good plays and is progressing quite nicely.

Rumor they offered a 6th rounder for Curry. Get 'er done.

Highly doubt they draft CB with #1 pick with Gamble, Captain, Butler and Hogan.

DT, OL or WR more likely.

Mare's leg is stronger than Kasay.

Only helps him on kickoffs because they punt when in fg range typically.

so what is up with DeAngelo Williams? Did he finally shake the rust off, and now he's ready to revisit 2008?

it depends

I was very critical of him earlier(and I still think Stewart is the better running back), but he looked really good last week. Our o-line simply hasn't been creating holes for DWill, and he relies on that. Stewart on the other hand can push through guys and can still succeed when the o-line isn't blocking well.

If this is for fantasy football purposes I don't know if I'd start him though. On one hand, he has historically dominated against the Saints and he's the type of guy who on any play could bust out a long run for a TD. On the other hand, the Panthers offense has drastically changed. To quote Ron Rivera:

"We are a Vertical Attack PASSING offense, that's what we like to do."

I think the days of 30 rushing attempts are over for us.

I can't believe I was so against drafting Cam earlier. Really starting to love this guy.

http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf...arterback.html

Some gems:

Have you surprised yourself with the transition?

"If you write a good article, do your surprise yourself?"

LMFAO^^^^

What are your emotions about putting up really good numbers so far this season but not getting the wins?

"Numbers are really irrelevant. The only thing that matters is wins and losses. Nobody cares in the Super Bowl if you threw for 500 yards. Everyone wants to know if you got a Super Bowl ring or not. That's what it's all about in this league. You have to put up good numbers to win, but when you don't (win) it's really irrelevant."

coaching cost us this game

simple as that

going deep on 3rd and 2, calling the time out before the half, continuing to put Legashiit Naanee in over LaFell, not calling timeouts on that last Saints drive to give us some more time to drive down the field…. just all around a horribly called game by Rivera/Chud.

if we won this game, it could have been the spark that took the team to the next level. we could have gone to Atlanta with a HUGE win under our belts and possibly beaten them to get .500, then it's the Redskins and Vikings… 5-3 was within reach, now I see us losing to the Falcons and maybe splitting the last two before the bye.

Fuk this moral victory stuff, every game we've been in was within reach and we couldn't get it done.

Timeout before half killed us today. Plus the pick on first play of the game.

Was great to see Deangelo finally have a big game again. That TD run was amazing, something you would see in 08 on a regular basis. I jumped out of my chair. Also decided to start him for my fantasy team today.

same things happened to Detroit last year…they won 6 games. now look at them sitting at 4-0 and going to go 5-0. they will beat Chicago. we'll win 6 games at least this year and maybe more. i actually think we can beat the Falcons next week. they have NO DEFENSE. you think our D is bad, they're probably worse. and they have no O-line

so 4-4 at the Bye week is possible and would be good for this team. come out of the Bye on fire and they can still fuucck some shiit up

The only thing that worries me about Atlanta is Turner. If they're smart they'll just pound is ass in between the tackles all game.

But it's the Falcons so they'll just try to chuck it to White or Julio

This is tough. I'm loving the team minus a few glaring mistakes every game. Cardiac Cats are back, we're just on the wrong end of it this time around, so far. I've got a good feeling about us next week against the Falcons though. If we can figure out a way to slow Turner down we can do work against them.

Fun fact

In 5 games this year, Panthers have scored 116 total points.
In 16 games last year, they scored 186 total points.
Last year they didn't reach the 116 mark until week 11 .

At least we're putting up points this year.

Yeah as I was watching it today I kept thinking, who would have thought that after last year's effort we'd rebound to have one of the top scoring offenses in the entire NFL… As much as the coaching staff has left to be desired at some points at least they have righted that ship.

The good thing is a lot of the problems we're having are fixable. Rivera is going to make mistakes as a first year coach, I just hope he learns from it.

Colts went 3-13 with Manning as a rookie. Packers went 6-10 in Rodgers' first year starting. Dallas 1-15 in Aikman's first year.

Just hoping we follow the same path those teams did…

btw i still think nanee is a pussy.. motherfuker doesn't fight for yards he just falls down whenever a defender is close. i want lafell.

From Cam Newton, when asked by a reporter if he was surprised by how quickly he had made the transition to the NFL: “If you write a good article, do you surprise yourself?”

Bobby Knight golf claps at that response

I think this might be the last year we see Otah in a Panthers uniform.

Ron Rivera said the other day that Otah didn't practice and if he is out we'll go with Byron Bell, then slid in this comment… "There is a difference, but it isn't big" when referring to Otah vs. Bell. I guess he's getting tired that Otah is about as durable as tissue paper. Damn shame too. Otah has the talent to be one of the best in the game, but I don't feel like he has the drive to make it happen.

I really like our chances tomorrow. I feel like if we get this win it could spark the team and put them on a winning streak into the bye week. The schedule isn't tough after tomorrow but it's a very rough stretch to end the season.
